For such an old being, she had a lot of patience. Colonies took millennia to come to fruition, and projects of any substance usually took centuries to bear any fruit. She was accustomed to waiting, and being patient.

She was beginning to run dangerously low on that patience.

It was her turn to keep Pink for the cycle, a task that she did not relish. She had hoped that at least some tiny amount of work may be accomplished while the little bra- while the future colonizer was with her. Those hopes were quickly and very thoroughly dashed, however. From the moment she arrived at the spire, Pink had been nothing but a nuisance. Her other gems in the tower knew better than to say it outright, but her constant pestering was downright annoying. Though it had been hidden beneath unending praise for the "prodigy," Yellow could read between the lines and see the desperate cry for help.

She should have known better than bringing her to her control room. Usually, being in the presence of a diamond was enough to subdue any gem. Of course, she supposed she should have guessed Pink wouldn't react like that. The course of the cycle had been nothing but questions, demands, pouting, and the occasional outburst. She was thankful she had had the forethought to send away all the other gems in the chamber, or else she would have had to shatter them to keep them quiet.

She glanced over at her pearl, who was working diligently at her station and pointedly avoiding eye contact with the other pearl in the room. She supposed her own pearl was thankful for which diamond she had ended up with. Glancing at the other pearl, who was busy trying to corral Pink into something resembling a useful task, she wondered if giving Pink a pearl had been a mistake. Though, she supposed it was better to keep her preoccupied than have her truly run amok.

Even if she was the youngest of the Diamonds, Pink still feels she deserves the same respect and the same responsibilities as her elders, the only problem is, neither think she’s ready to hold the mantle. All she has in the title of authority, and that can only get you so far in life. No, Pink wants more, she wants her own colony now!


both of the Diamond’s quickly diminished that idea like they always do, but Pink wasn’t going to give up that easily. She keeps nagging and bugging them constantly bringing up the idea and she can see that even Yellow is starting to be fed up with her constant assault of whines. It’s only a matter of time before they break down and give her what she deserves! Ever since she got her, she made it her goal to be as much of a nuisance as possible so she can get what she wants, and that has worked in the past for minor things, but she never tested it with something as large as this.

She makes it to the control room and she looks up at the taller diamond not caring for their status because she shares the same “so, when I have my own colony, will everything look so dull and miserable?” she asks knowing that will push some buttons in the older gem. Another great way to push some buttons is to order Yellow’s gems around and they couldn’t say no to a Diamond! Finally, Yellow broke and ordered everyone out of the chambers except both of them and their pearls “well, quite frankly, that was just rude. I was only trying to help, it seems as someone has a lack of self-control” she added before being practically dragged away by Pearl to do some meaningless task.

Yellow Pearl snickers gently at the shit-show that was happening before her before she sees her Diamond look over to her. she quickly gains her composure and bows “my apologies my diamond, but this matter is out of my control” she says quietly before she returns to her task. She is researching neighboring planets for the minerals in their soil hoping one might make a suitable planet for a kindergarten, but finding no luck so far. Even if this task is teeth-wrenching, at least she doesn’t have to deal with the other diamond in the room. Pink sighed loudly “this is foolish Yellow, why must I do a Pearl’s job? Why can’t I sit back and lead like you? You don’t seem to be doing anything” she huffs looking back at her.

The radiant Diamond merely let out a sigh and closed her eyes, leaning her head back. "If and when you get your first colony, there are any number of forms it may take. A simple airless moon or a gas giant, you must be ready for anything. It is your job to build and make it beautiful. Do you think my colonies began as wonders? No, they were nothing but backwaters filled with useless oceans and organic life. Now they are pinnacles of the empire. That is why you must learn this "Pearl's job." You must be ready for all of the intricate detail that goes into the building and operating of a successful colony. And if you must know, I am currently monitoring the stabilization of a caldera on the other side of the planet." With that, she turned her attention away from Pink and began pointedly ignoring her.

Pink Pearl waited for the lustrous Yellow Diamond to finish before returning her attention to Yellow. "These tasks will be essential for you when you own your own colonies! You can't just sit back and lead, or the ordinary gems will fall into chaos! It will be nothing but disorganization, inefficiency, and possibly even sabotage." She reopened the screen she had dismissed while Yellow was talking. "As you can see, by properly organizing your files, you can achieve optimal..." She launched into a long lecture about the virtues of proper organization, oblivious to Pink's wildly wandering attention.

Yellow, overhearing snippets of the lecture, wondered who would make a pearl with such a squawky voice. Though, glancing at her own pearl, she supposed it might be intrinsic to their gem.

‘if and when’ she loves those two words together, it shows that she’s making some progress, but she knows she can dig deeper. “and I am ready for anything, but-“ she tries to interject, but Yellow keeps speaking “I understand your colonies are beautiful but-“ she doesn’t get a chance to speak again. A slight growl comes from her “but that doesn’t tell me why I need to learn these silly tasks such as the galactic debris surrounding the planet and the 0.0001% that it might collide with it or the best way to get to the core of a planet. You wanna know the best way Yellow? It’s called go down!” she barks back at her still upset she doesn’t treat her like a diamond like everyone else. She clenches her first when she turned away from the smaller Diamond. “I hate it when Blue forces me to learn from her, she couldn’t train a Ruby let alone a diamond” she mumbles to her pearl not caring if Yellow heard.


She groans and looks to Pearl “has there ever been any form of revolution between the gems that you know about Pearl? I don’t think so, because they blindly follow us because we give them life and a purpose. Without us, they would be lost in the universe with no direction” she softly says, “but pearls are different, they chose to serve us” she knows exactly what to say to Pearl so she can get her mind of an monotonous task she’s been assigned, but Pearl sees through her tricks this time. she groans and leans back in her chair blankly staring at the screen as Pearl begins to lecture her.


Yellow Pearl who was busy in her own work tuned out the younger Diamond for the most part. There’s only so much she can deal with and she knows if she talked to her Diamond that way, she would have a very sore bottom or worse, be shattered! She slowly looked up at her Diamond when she sees her checking in on her progress “is everything okay my Diamond? Do you want me to ask Pink Diamond to go to her chambers so you might have some moments of silence while you work? Or perhaps you would enjoy a soft song while you work to ease your mind” she asks showing the highest respect to her diamond

Pearl could tell that she was loosing her diamond's attention, but persevered until she knew Pink wasn't listening to a word she said. "My diamond, might it be wise to pay attention to these lessons? I am sure that Yellow Diamond would be far more open to the idea of granting you yor own colony." She hoped that the alluring thought of her own colony might spur Pink to be more attentive. Though, so far, her efforts were met with very limited success. "I assure you my diamond, the importance of proper asteroid management at the appropriate diligence in excavation projects can prevent many-"

She didn't have a chance to finish, however, as she was interrupted by the sound of Yellow Diamond rising quickly out of her chair. She dismissed her Pearl with a wave if her hand, and in two strides was standing over Pink. She picked her up with one fist under her shoukders and hoisted her to eye level. "I have given you mif I lenience today as you did and said things that would have had lesser gems shattered, but I will NOT abide by your direct insulting of a diamond! You have crossed a very big line, do you understand? A lower caste woukd painfully shattered for that, and elite whipped within an inch of her life. How dare you presume yourself in a position to speak ill of us!"

She looked over her shoulder at her pearl. "Lock the doors and disable all recording devices in this chamber."

Pearl stood silently in a salute and Yellow Diamond's feet, fearful of what may befall her and her diamond.

Pink stared at her Pearl blankly hopping that would be enough to keep up the illusion, but her hopes proved to be wrong when Pearl called her out on her bluff. She quickly shook her head starting to pay attention when she said that Yellow would be open to the idea if she listened “I know she may be open to the idea, but this is Yellow we are talking about! she’s so stubborn, I doubt even if I complete all these lessons, she’d even consider the idea!” she didn’t even have the time to hear what Pearl would have said in response before she saw Yellow rise from her chair out of the corner of her eye.


“m-my diamond, I don’t think this is-“ but she was silenced by a wave of her hand. She simply nodded her head and stood from her own chair waiting for an order. Pink growled as she was hoisted up to her level and glared at her dead in the eye “you misunderstand me Yellow, I wasn’t speaking ill of the diamonds. I was speaking ill of you!” she barks back and wiggles in her grasp trying to break free. It seemed like she was digging her own grave and there’s nothing anyone could do about it “you wouldn’t dare shatter a diamond, so I can say whatever I want!” she yells back


Yellow pearl slowly spoke up “my diamond, I beg you to reconsider. Think of the negative responses the masses may have to this!” she begged, but this was only met with a stern glare. She saluted her hesitantly “I-I mean…yes my diamond” she quickly ran around the room turning off all communication to the outside world and then locking all of the doors

Yellow considered the squirming gem in her hand. Pink needed to be taught a major lesson, that was certain. But what lesson? A plan began to coalesce in Yellow's mind, and she had to keep herself from smiling. If Pink was going to be so callous and rude, perhaps there was a way to turn it into a very teachable moment. She set Pink down on the ground, and glared at her for a moment.

"By all accounts, you certainly deserve a serious punishment. A long, hard spanking would do you a lot of good in my opinion. However, I believe that there is potentially more to be gained from a lesson than a thrashing. Look at your pearl."

On hearing herself mentioned, Pearl looked up hesitantly at her Diamond, not sure what was happening. She certainly would hate to see Pink spanked for her behavior, even if Pearl agreed with Yellow about it's deservedness. Her Diamond was out of hand, and more than once Pearl had treasonously had the thought go through her mind during her greatest trials as Pink's mentor.

Yellow continued. "You have shown no discipline, no responsibility, and no remorse for your actions for as long as you have been in my presence. That is far from the behavior worthy of a Diamond. You seem to have no interest in learning how to lead. So here is your first real lesson, even if it is one you will not enjoy. One of two things is going to happen now; which is entirely your choice. Either I am going to put you over my knee and let your bottom know exactly how upset I am with you... or you are going to put your pearl over your knee and spank her in your place. The choice is yours. Be warned, there is a correct answer."

Yellow glanced at her pearl, showing obvious displeasure out her outburst, but said nothing. Her eyes said that they would discuss that later.

Pearl's eye widened at the pronouncement. Yes, she had been spanked thousands of times over her life, but never before by a diamond. Still, she had a duty to perform. "My diamond, it would be my honor to take your punishment in your stead." She walked over to Pink's side, waiting to be pulled over her lap.

She rubbed her under arm when she was placed on the ground and glared up at Yellow “and a serious apology might I add! You had no right to lift me like that, you could have dropped me!” she added. A deep blush was formed on her cheeks when she brought up the idea of a spanking. Getting whipped was a lower gem’s punishment and being spanked was no better. How dare she brings up such a degrading punishment. She looks over at her Pearl losing all will to fight after hearing what’s going through Yellow’s head.


Pink nibbled on her lip and looked down thinking about the possibilities. Is she really going to stand here and let herself be punished? If she doesn’t, then the gem she cares about the most will have to feel her pain, and even worse, she’ll have to be the one administering it! she gulps and softly spoke up “I have in interest to lead, but you have given me no chance to redeem myself nor given me an opportunity to lead. This choice you gave me shows nothing of my leadership and has only pinned me against the wall with both choices leading to negative outcomes! I refuse to punish my pearl for my outburst today, but don’t you dare talk to me about discipline or responsibility when your own pearl shows the same disobedience!” as she continued her rant, she slowly got louder until she was back to her screaming self.

Yellow Pearl looked down too ashamed to look at any of the other gems in the room but knows she messed up. She was afraid that she was going to have to sweep up Pink Diamond, but even then, she should have listened to her Diamond and stay silent. She feels her cold glare hit her like a ton of bricks and nodded her head understanding that she’s in for a similar fate.

Pink looked at her Pearl and shook her head “I know you would, but this is something I must do alone” she softly says before walking to Yellow Diamond “I have already said my choice already Yellow and I don’t plan on going back on my word! As a leader, I will be punished for my disobedience degrading as it is”

Yellow narrowed her eyes. "That was the wrong choice." She turned around and casually strode over to her chair, beckoning for Pink to follow. "Every gem in the universe was made specifically to serve the Diamonds, and most of the ones you meet in your life will have not other purpose than to serve you. Being a leader is knowing this, and using your gems to their fullest extent. Their existence means nothing other than what you decide they mean."

She took a firm hold of Pink's arm, making Pink face her. "Those are the words of a child who wants to sound wise and fair, when we both know you just don't want to make a hard choice. A choice that shouldn't be hard in the first place. You have every right to transfer your pain onto that Pearl, and yet you don't. You have denied her her existence as your servant and your place as her ruler. By all accounts you should be paddling that pearl, and should only feel relief that I gave you the choice."

Pearl gulped as Pink made her pronouncement. Although she felt relief that she wouldn't be punished today, her loyalty to her diamond wrenched within her, causing her to feel grief for Pink's upcoming ordeal. How could she feel anything else? She must be a terrible pearl, so low that her Diamond wouldn't even punish her properly...

"You're right, my pearl did show disobedience. And she will be punished. Harshly. And I will not feel an ounce of regret or pain because of it, just as I know she will feel no indignation or resentment. It is my place to punish her as she disobeys me. We both know this. It's about time you learn your own place."

Hoisting her into the air by her arm, Yellow laid Pink across her right leg; the size difference was too much to put her across both. She rested her hand against her back, pinning her in place. Without warning, the ends of her fingers began raining down upon the diamond's posterior.

“w-what do you mean that’s the wrong choice!? Y-you wanted me to fess up for my wrong doings and do what a leader always does, lead by example” she says nervously as she starts to back away from the diamond. She gulps loudly and her eyes widen with fear at Yellow’s scolding. She doesn’t understand how even when she makes the right choice, Yellow always finds a way to pull it in her favor. Whatever she chose, Yellow would have won!


She yelps out in pain as a firm hand wraps around her arm. She tries to tug away, even though she knows she can’t escape. She growls loudly “because she doesn’t deserve to be punished for my wrong doings! Even if they’re just servants, we still should create some relationship with them!” she nibbles on her lip trying to think of something but she simply shakes her head “I’ll do whatever I want with my pearl and I’ll punish her whenever I see fit! You have no right to tell me when she does or doesn’t deserve punishment! I’m her leader and I chose to spare her and there’s nothing you can do about it!” she barks back and sticks her tongue out at Yellow still trying to act strong, but anyone can see this is just a feeble attempt.


Yellow Pearl walked next to the other Pearl hoping that she’d also be punished through some circumstance. How dare her diamond takes her punishment, it’s enough for the pearl to put the other over her lap and show her the pain that her diamond is feeling for her. The moment she hears her name, she quickly looks up and salutes her and nods her head “y-yes my diamond…” she says hesitantly knowing her place, but still fearing the pain that will come. It has been quite some time since she was punished, but she still remembered every swat like it was a bad dream.


Pink squirmed over her leg desperately trying to escape “y-you can’t do this to me! I’m a diamond!” but this title holds nothing to the other Diamonds. She’s pinned to her back and she feels a hard finger smack against both her cheeks. she grunts loudly and digs her fingers into the leg finally accepting there’s no escape. Harsh smack after slap comes raining down over her ass and causes the younger diamond to yelp out in pain. “ah…It hurts…ohhhh…Yellow!!” she wails out
