Harry Potter: Hermione’s Price to Pay (for Crystalip)

Months has passed since the climactic first adventure in the lives of Harry Potter and his friends. Now summer, most student are wanting to use this time to relax and play with their friends. Not Hermione. Who spent the first couple weeks of her summer trying to practice her magic in secret. She knew that whatever tried to kill her and her friends won’t stay down or something will come and get her. You always have to be prepared!

Well, the magic government didn’t seem to agree. They caught her in the act and took her to court. Where they ordered she must be under the watch of some dictator or general or something. So not only is she going to have no magic to practice but some stranger is just going to yell at her all summer. Although unfortunately she doesn’t know the half of it. With her parents gone on vacation for the summer, she sat on her bed in a white t shirt, a pair of jeans and pink socks. She sat there sadly, waiting for this person to arrive.

At precisely 10:00 a.m., Mary Pocket, a blonde woman in her mid-twenties, appeared in the middle of the street. All the people walking up-and-down the sidewalk continued on without any hint of acknowledgement.

Mary walked straight up to the Granger's residence. In her mind, she reviewing the details of this newest assignment, which essentially boiled down to punishing a naughty muggle-born who had chosen to fly in the face of the Ministry. Except, by the end of this summer, that would be reared out of the young child.

Mary raised her hand and rapped on the door.

With a sigh, Hermione got to her feet and made her way downstairs. On her way, she picked up her wand from the counter. As part of her punishment, she must give her wand to the woman for the summer. Luckily for her, she always has a spare.

Opening the door, Hermione gave a clearly fake smile as she greeted the woman. “Hi, I’m Hermione! Please come in!” She said as she moved out of the way to make room for her.

"Hello, Hermione," greeted Mary, returning the smile. Her smile was professional but not ungenuine. When the door was closed behind her, she reached out with an open palm. "Before anything else, I will collect all wands in your possession."

Hermione let out a small groan, stomping her foot a bit. That is before she took a deep breath and put the wand in the woman’s hand. “There. Happy? I’m going to my room.” She said as she turned to walk away.

Mary took note of the wand's appearance and characteristics, tucking it into a safe pocket within her coat. No one except for her could access the contents of the pocket. She frowned when the 11-year-old immediately tried to escape to her room. That's not how this was going to go.

"Wait just a moment, Ms. Granger," said Mary. A flick of her own wand locked Hermione's legs, sending her to the ground in a heap. "I believe you have forgotten the point of my presence here. I am here to discipline you for your actions, not to be treated disrespectfully and disregarded."

Hermione stopped in her tracks and rolled her eyes when the woman’s voice rang in her ears, turning her head so she could be face to face with her new teacher once again. “Yeah yeah I know. That’s why I’m going to my room so I can be grounded.” She pointed out. As much as she wanted to move, the woman’s magic prevented this
