Pokemon Pranksters
16-year-old Kris Miyoto kissed her adoptive mom, Pike Queen Lucy Archer, goodbye and left her watching from the doorway of Pike Place, setting off on her journey. Accompanying her was her best friend, Mint Kibayashi. They'd both been orphans from Johto and wild pranksters, and when they'd been adopted four years ago, they'd been scrawny and weak in body, but insanely mischievous in spirit. Now, at last, they were fit enough to embark on a Pokemon journey of their own free will.
They were quiet, solemn, as they made their way through a stretch of forest, then through a park. It wasn't long, though, before the quiet solemnity got to be too much for Kris, especially when she realized Mints eyes were dampening. This was no time to be sad.
"Hey, Mint. Want an apple?"
"Like. . .sure. Thanks, Kris."
"You are SO GULLIBLE!" Kris shouted when, in her absentmindedness, her best frisnd chomped down on a well-polished and -finished decorative apple. "So busy moping around, you couldn't see through the stupidest prank in the world!"
Mint flung the apple aside. "Kris Miyoto, I'm going to murder you!"
Thus began the chase, and the tears gave way to laughter and roughhousing.

Not far away, by a nearby lake, rested a young boy named Ricky, also an orphan. He mostly survived from the generosity of others, but he was also a fairly good trainer for a seven year old, so he would ocasionally get something good out of battles.
He was pretty innocent looking, which was mostly a play, since he also loved to play pranks on unsuspecting travelers. And as he watched, he saw a couple of traveling trainers having fun.
"Well, I think the day just got more interesting" he mused to himself, keeping an eye on the firls as his quick mind started to come up with a plan.

Mint tackled Kris into a nearby pool, which was hilarious until several irate Ducklett attacked them. Then they fled, dripping wet, and pursued eachother around an apple tree.

The boy had already gotten a plan going and approached the girls, putting on his best worried kid expression "C-can you help me? My pokemon is stuck under those bushes there!"
He, of course, had something planned for the moment they tried to look inside them.

Kris and Mint left off roughhousing and got to their feet.
"Hold on, little guy. Maybe Chikorita can pull it out." Kris went to crouch near the bushes he'd indicated. "It must be a pretty small Pokemon. What kind is it?"

"Is a Ralts! Can you see him? It's somewhere inside there..." he said "Maybe he went further in?"

Mint opened a Pokeball. "Come on out, Ditto!"
Ditto materialized beside her.
"Ditto, can you take on the form of Luxray?" Kris asked. "This kid's Pokemon is stuck somewhere in the bushes. We need you to see how far back."
Ditto morphed into a Luxray. He gave the bushes a scan, then another scan. An air of guilt or embarrassment seemed to overtake him.

"Can you see him? Or you, lady?" said the boy, feigning worry.
Of course, said Ralts was actually on a nearby tree, awaiting for the girl to just peek inside the bush...

Ditto admitted with shame that he couldn't see the Ralts. Was he really still so bad at imitations?
Mint stifled a groan. "If you don't see him, then he's, like, obviously not there, Ditto. You totally need to learn to trust yourself more."
So saying, she crouched down near the bush. "Are you sure he's stuck there, little guy?"

"I'm sure he is there...!" he said, just waiting for the perfect chance for her to peek inside... he was just waiting to give the signal to his Pokemon in the tree. Then her wet clothes would be met with a whole bucket of reddish dirt falling on top of her.
"Please, he's my best friend!"
