Basically, where would I look to get the icon for something like a paddle or cane? Is there a way to extract these from a downloaded RPG maker game, because I haven’t been able to find it if such a method exists. I’m using MV.

You COULD extract the icon from the www/img/system/IconSet file. If it is encrypted (ending with rpgmvp extension) it can still be done with use of a decrypter (google "mv decrypter", they are not hard to use). If you are desperate, and above methods don't work, then I guess you could make a screenshot and just cut the icon from it.

As for what you SHOULD do - ask the appropriate game creator for permission before using any of his assets. If he will be willing to help you, then he might simply send you the file. If he is not willing - please DO NOT abuse their work and create something by yourself. Stealing other's work is both illegal and unethical.
