Baby for a Week (for Jinchu)

[Adamantium Babe]

Owen Burnett prepared Mr. Xanatos's breakfast with great care every single day.
It was always the usual: a cup of black freshly grinded coffee (warm, but not hot, and with no sugar whatsoever), a plate of bacon and boiled quail eggs, two slices of toasted bread with butter and a glass of orange, carrot and lemon juice.
Always the same finely prepared breakfast.
And yet this morning Mr. Xanatos decided to refuse to eat anything on the silver tray Owen brought to him.

Not only that, but he was extremely nervous and sarcastic throughout the whole day, not only to the employees (the very few he met, since it was mostly Owen who talked with them), but also to Burnett.
Xanatos would snap at him for no particular reason, change his mind constantly about everything and comment bitterly whenever Owen made a proposition.

"Sir, you have been quite...irritated the entire day. Is something the matter?"
Burnett asked him once they were alone in Xanatos's office, in the evening.

Xanatos was not really sure, actually. Lately he'd been through a lot - mystical revelations, near death experiences and, worst of all, a series of very remarkable fauliers. It could break a lesser man, but David Xanatos was no ordinary man for sure! That's what he had been telling himself over and over.



So... there was no reason for him to be distressed, upset and disoriented. No excuse.



And it ultimately mean that he wasn't. If Xanatos was angry, it was because of someone's else incompetence.


"Well, Owen, teh matter is that all this corporation cannot propely work without my direct constant supervision. No one puts enough effort they were payed for. And you know who's supposed to see it work? You. You are. Its your personal goddamn flaw if things are no going perfectly!!" with every word Xantaos' tone was louder, more sharp and more agressive. Almost capricious.

Owen simply raised a thin, blond eyebrow while he stood perfectly still in front of his employer's desk.

"With all due respect, Mr. Xanatos, I believe that the Xanatos Enterprises are going as well as usual and that all employees are doing the best they can to make everything work smoothly.
And I also believe that my daily routine for you has been perfect as usual, but if I'm mistaken, then please: tell me what I did wrong precisely."

"As well as usual is not ENOUGH, Owen! We need to do better. You need to do better. We jave new persectives now, and new enemies too, and so far there was nothing but gail in that regard." Xanatos snapped, his tone becoming more and more agressive and demanding. Since his plans couldn't be any less tehn brillinat, his workers must be impressivly bad at their jobs to execute them so poorely... right?


"Well, I'm sorry, Owen, but my "daily routine" is not your primary goal! I'm not a baby and you're not my goddamn nanny. Run the business instead!!" David almost yelled teh last phrase into his secretay's face and threw teh cup with coffee off his table.

Owen was able to avoid being splashed by the coffee just in time, stepping away from his boss's desk.
He glared at Xanatos for a few, long, minutes: his cold, blue eyes had a strange glint, almost as he had just planned something.

Something that Xanatos was going to regret very soon.

A week later, Owen made sure that everything was ready before bringing a cup of chamomile tea to Mr. Xanatos. He had put a few drops of sleeping draught into the cup so that David would fall asleep in no time and wouldn't wake up easily.

He knocked on the office's door.

"Sir, your herbal tea is ready."
Owen said as he walked into the room.

Xanatos was not as moody as before at the moment, but to be honest he was irritated through the whole week and made it very clear for everyone around him.



"Ok, ok, put it here..." xanatos waved at Owen, not even looking up at him from the screen. He overworked himself to gain more results as well, but, alas, it only made the millionare more moody. David took the tea without looking and took a big sip, almost burning his tongue.

Owen waited near the general computer: the draught would've take effect in about ten minutes, and once Mr. Xanatos was asleep, he would've carried him into his new accommodation for the next week.

"You are not needed here... a-aah... Owen. Come do somethin'... s'mthin' usefu-uuugh..." Xanatos yawned, waving his hand at the secretary, He yawned again, and again, pressed a few buttons on his computer kayboard, stretched nad relaxed in hsi chair, snorting softly...

Three hours later, when the effects of the sleeping draught would fade away, Xanatos would find himself in a completely different room: the room is cozy, decorated in pastel blue, yellow and with cute decorations of animals and plants.
He would find himself inside an adult sized cot, dressed in a light blue onesie and a thick diaper.
He would be surrounded by stuffed animals.

At first Xanatos presumed he was still dreaming. Or, rather, having the weirdest nightmare. But then he tried to stand up, his diaper creaked and he felt how the onsie supressed the movements of someone who was used to completely different type of clothing. It was all much too real.


"What the FUCK?!" Xanatos yelped in rage and confusion. He hada lot of enemies, but none of them would he expect to do something like this.
