The innocent weapon

It was cold in the chamber, and the girl shivered as she huddled against a corner, curled up into a hall while poking at her scars. Normally she’d be able to resist the cold, but her sensory detectors had been turned on so she could feel pain. She was an android, of sorts. While she had been made in a lab and not been birthed, she was very much a living, breathing being who could laugh, talk, smell, see, and hear just as well as anyone else. What made her special was the abilities she’d been given after she was synthesized. She was meant to be used for warfare, but having been given a conscious, she didn’t want to kill people just because she was made to. So she was kept inside of a lab to have her will broken until she would do whatever someone asked without question. She hadn’t yet had her spirit broken, but she’d been tortured so much that there were visible scars around her neck and chest.

“Oh you’re finally awake,” her abuser stated as he walked into the room. “Its time to eat. Get up. Now.”

Akira ignored him and stayed on the ground, only to cover her ears and wince as a sonic weapon was blasted at her.

Unbeknown to the scientists who were torturing this android, a flight of UN ACU's (Armored Combat Units) were approaching. these 80 ton, humanoid war machines stood 4 stories tall, carried a blistering array of machine guns, heavy 220mm cannon's and missile launchers. the pilot of the lead unit, with a Red Ace of Spades on the right shoulder pauldron, were approching this lab with the intent of capturing it. the Pilot inside was Ian Fisher, at 23, the young officer was on his first tour of duty in the great war, which had broken out between the western world, and the Eastern European blocks that had made up the old USSR.

it had started as a second cold war, mutual mistrust and hatred had sped the development of weapons, the New Federation had developed Spider tanks, multi legged tanks that had a blistering array of weapons, the UN had developed the ACU.

it seemed both sides were just waiting, nether side ready to strike, until a metior hit, this had spread an unknown metal into the air which had rendered all Fission impossible. both sides had blamed the other for the event, which came to be known as Heavens fall. War had followed shortly after. 12 years later both sides were still fighting. with nether side gaining an edge, though weapons research was going on still, but attacks seemed to hit right when they could afford them least.

"Alpha team. engage!" Ian called as he pulled his targeting scope over his right eye, the 87mm machine cannon in his ACU's hand opened up with a stream of fire, catching a Spider tank and shreading it's armor.

The building shook from the battle outside and the scientist paused for a second, just long enough for Akira to back away from the sonic gun.

“I don’t know what’s going on,” he muttered. “You stay here. You move and I’ll break your legs.” With that said he walked off after closing her chamber, leaving to see what the situation was. He mostly assumed it was an earthquake and just needed to see if he should evacuate. Of course Akira would be fine if there was an earthquake, her body could be repaired as long as a human was around.

Right as he was about to leave a hand crashed through the wall. the Myomer mussels that made the ACU possible were bundles of special fibers that contracted when an electrical current ran through them, depending on the current it would move a little, or provide enough force to pulverize metal. the hand turned slightly, and pulled the wall out, revealing the huge mech on the other side.

an external speaker clicked on "hands up!" it said, in the cockpit in the head of the machine, Ian blinked as he saw what seemed to be a small girl, and a man in a white coat, his sensors on the ACU showed the Sonic gun. "Dont worry Kid. your safe now." he said. he had no idea what made him say it. but he did.

The moment the mech broke through the wall, the scientist froze in fear while Akira looked up at it. “What is going on?” he demanded, though he quickly put his hands in the air while his face paled. How could this have happened?

Akira’s eyes glowed a little as the nanobots inside of her activated, though they didn’t fly out to protect her as the mech and man piloting it weren’t seen as a threat. “W-Who are you?”

"UN Military! Drop the weapon. or i'll make you into pulp!" Ian's voice boomed. he was addressing the scientist, but heard the girl as well. "dont worry honey. your safe now." he said. his hands slick on the control sticks from sweat.

The gun dropped almost immediately, though the sound it produced made Akira and cover her ears. With the scientist unarmed, her nanobots flew out in a mar invisible stream and began disabling the gun to keep it from working.

Ian watched this in shock. wondering what in the hell was going on. "Dont worry. Your safe now. He cant hurt you any more!" he said. wondering if those nanites would be enough to disable his machine?

Once the gun was disassembled, the bots once again flew back to her and she let out a sigh before backing away from the scientist, moving closer to Ian to hide.

Ian placed his machines hand down "climb on. dont worry. i can pick up an egg without breaking the shell. you'll be just fine." he said.
