[Where Monsters Dwell] - An RPGMaker MV Game

Hey there!

Before you say anything, yes this is yet another RPGMaker game on the site. Hopefully this one will be good enough for you to ignore that little detail.

Anyway, have a plot summary:

The world you live in is one where magical creatures such as elves, orcs and the like exist peacefully alongside humans... or so the humans say. In actuality, magical creatures (basically any species that's non-human) are discriminated against and most humans make sure to go out of their way to make their lives miserable. In this day and age, most magical creatures live in places out of sight of regular humans, so as to avoid conflict.

You play the role of Penelope, a human girl who was brought up to be accepting of said magical creatures. That is, until one day she suddenly finds out that she's not human but rather half-succubus and half... something else. She's not sure yet. Her mother - a fully matured Succubus - takes her to a village she used to live in that's secluded from the rest of society, so as to keep her away from the humans who would do her harm.

But why now? And why here? You'll have to find your answers as you stay amongst these folk, all of whom are surprisingly receptive to magical creatures (or 'monsters') such as yourself.

Of course, awakening to your powers as a half-succubus has its own share of problems, including developing a very strange and specific interest that you'll have to come to terms with.

The main focus on the game is to develop a romantic relationship with one of the residents of the town, all while suppressing (or succumbing to) your newfound urges as a half-succubus.

To make up for the lack of pictures (I can't draw for nuts), I'll be focusing on the writing of the story and characters to make this as fun of an experience as possible. I'm not much of a writer, but I'll aspire to be with this game! If nothing else, I'm hoping some of you will be able to relate to Penelope on some level as someone who's starting to develop her 'interests' and finding acceptance, but that's for when the narratives develop further.

Do also keep in mind that if at any point you feel that a certain option (usually related to a spanking) seems out of place, don't worry; it's intentional and plays a part in the narrative. So don't be afraid of testing them out!

This is my first time using RPGMaker, so I'll be keeping it simple and the game right now is only planned to have F/F scenes with an all female cast. I'll work on other options when I'm done with this current narrative and get more familiar with the program. As such, any and all feedback are welcome and appreciated (for both programming and the writing)!

Update 3: Happy 4th of July! Have an update, with a total of 7 new spanking scenarios (plus 1 extra):
-Amethyst's Day 2 Scenes are done with 2 scenarios (one in which you spank her, another in which she gets spanked), one of which features a spanking you get to watch
-Traveler's Lodge Day 2 is open, with the third floor available
-You can now spank Susan in the Traveler's lodge
-You can spank the two new residents of the traveler's lodge, Violet and Subrina! (And get spanked, too)


Changelog for Previous updates

22 June 2018:
-2 Spanking scenes as part of the main story [Both involve you getting spanked, but one where you get spanked while displaying more dominant traits]
-One extra spanking scene with a new character, Sonia.
-Characters Darius and Delphi, courtesy of the discord group, have been added, and will have more scenes moving forward.

15 June 2018:
-You can have a chat with Lily in the Travelers' Lodge (amongst other things)
-You can do something... interesting before starting day 2
-You can access Ciel's quest in Day 2, with 2 different outcomes (one in which you spank her, and the other in which you are spanked)

Note: Only Ciel's quest is available this time for Day 2, but with it you'll get an idea on what the game will be like moving forward. You get to spend the day with one of the characters, and there'll always be an option to use your powers (thus becoming more of a succubus) or no (in which case your other half will eventually grow stronger).
The more of a succubus you become, the more dominant Penelope will develop into (even if she's the one being spanked!), and vice-versa for not using your powers. This will affect the interactions with the characters going forward, though it may not be obvious yet.

Just played through the demo, and it was great! I enjoyed your dialog for the characters. Loved the unexpected cameos. One minor dialog error - when spanking Amethyst(sp?), it's stated in the dialog that she's your first, however if you go south thru the village you can spank Ciel's sister(I forgot her name) first. Other than that, nothing else leaped out at me. I eagerly await your next update.

This is looking to be a cute little game. The dialogue is well written, and the first spanking from your mother was well done, with a lot of cute dialog and some good descriptions throughout the scene.

One thing I would suggest is to ditch the opening crawl. You already make it abundantly clear through the game's dialogue that humans are the dominant species, and aren't exactly friendly to everyone else. If you ditch the opening crawl, people will be able to discover that more organically, which I think will be much more compelling.

Even if magical creatures aren't my thing, this was well written and there was a lot of flair in the world.

This is a good start, I hope to see more of this.

Another great game. Personally I like the RPG maker games, so don't think it is a bad thing to make yet another RPG Maker Game.

I loved the consensual nature of the spankings, punishment spankings just are not my thing. But a consensual spanking can be every bit as intense as a punishment one.

I also Loved the guest appearances, have to wonder what you had to do to get the intellectual property of the fellow game providers.

Thank you! To be honest the current opening was already cut to be less draggy, but I don't like an expo dump myself so I'll probably cut it entirely.

Thanks! In future updates, there will be options that'll cater to human/human interactions (it has to do with Penelope's other half), so maybe you'll enjoy that part more!

Thank you; I'm hoping to have more things to do in the game, though until I improve with the software I won't be putting in too much non-story bits. Sorry about that.

Thanks! I figured I might as well make it consensual for a little more flavor, especially considering Penelope's backstory. Glad it worked out okay!

For the guest appearances, it was no small thing. Last I checked Bagool has my kidneys, animegirl my left leg and Godspeak has my right arm.

I'm glad you finally got something out for people to play. I hope you go as far as you want to with this. I think the sounds you have used throughout some scenes really fit in some places and I'm interested in how you'll handle the main gimmick of the game with the abilities of her two halves.
