The world has been amazing. Always, some people were born with extraordinary abilities. At the bottom, some people were unusually good with tennis and were highly trained martial artists. At the top, these people had the power to destroy planets without breaking a sweat. Not to mention, there were unusual powers as well. People born with super high intelligence, or the ability to use their watch to turn into aliens. Anyone could be a Pokemon. They looked human, except when they had a rare physical modification (such as orange skin and green eyes.)

These people would be known as Pokemon. And indeed, for most of history, the world was divided between the pokemon that caused trouble and pokemon that stopped it. Ordinary humans, those who were born without the gift, were helpless to do anything. The entire world could only hope that the good pokemon were always stronger.

But then, the most famous Pokemon in history was found: Ash Ketchum. Ash had the ability to generate spheres, baseballs that opened up, that could catch animals and transform them into strange creatures. A mouse gained the ability to channel electricity! But scientists, analyzed the balls, figuring out what made them tick, and reversed engineered them, creating the Pokeball.

The Pokeball could catch Pokemon. If a Pokemon was weakened enough, and there were several methods, they would be caught. They weren't slaves, but they were more submissive to their owners: like a spirit who's master knew their true name. Pokemon still went about their normal lives, but they could be summoned by their owners, and contained in the Pokeballs if they were bad.

Currently, trainers around the world search for Pokemon and catch them. Some treat them like pets, other friends, others tools, and some like lovers.

Our story follows Toshiro Hitsugaya, a fresh trainer, leaving his grandma's house for the first time. He smiled as he held his Pokedex and his empty Pokeballs were on his belt. "Time for me to start," he said as he looked a bit eager. He felt bad for leaving his grandma, but he wanted to train. And with that, he searched for his first Pokemon, looking in the nearby market.

In a forest not far from there, Mayuko Nise awoke to her stomach growling loudly. Sitting up and rubbing her eyes, she quickly looked around the area and scouted out her options. "Ughh, not fruits again! I've seriously had enough" she muttered to herself and went out to the market place she used to get food from. "Let's see if there's anything good on offer today" she thought upon arrival.

Hitsugaya scanned random people with his Pokedex, but each time, the Pokedex said that there was "no data available," indicating that they were a human. But then it scanned Mayuko, and the Pokedex beeped, indicating that she had advanced fighting abilities with a specialization with knives. Frowing, he tossed a Pokeball at her. He knew he should weaken her, but he hoped he would get lucky.

The Pokeball caught the unsuspecting Mayuko off guard, hitting her right on the forehead. "Ow, hey..." she exclaimed as the ball hit her, although she was unable to finish her sentence due to the ball sucking her in. Then the ball shook 4 times and then stopped, indicating that she had been caught.

Hitsugaya blinked as he looked at the pokeball. "Umm," he began as he looked around. Unbeknownst to him, the pokeball was scanning everything about Mayuko, so that she was no secret. He picked up the Pokeball. "Come out Mayuko?" He said as he tossed it.

(I didn't know what else to do, but if we look at it like Pokemon, Mayuko's level wouldn't be very high right now, and he needs a starter Pokemon, so I figured I'd do it that way)

The Pokeball opened to send Mayuko out, and she was less than happy with the current situation. "What the heck was that? Don't just catch people in public! It's embarrassing, you know?" she complained. "Now everyone here knows some shorty owns me! For real dude? And those things freaking hurt, okay? Anyways, I was looking for some food..." she said, trailing off as her stomach growled again.

Hitsugaya blinked. He didn't expect that he would.be told off by the first person that he captured. "Sorry about that. And well, people would know anyway when they scanned you," he said as he demonstrated. The Pokedex beeped and said that she was owned. "And...if you are my pokemon, you are my responsibility if you are with me," he remembered. "Do you want me to buy you something to eat?"

"In any case, I don't appreciate getting things thrown in my face when my guard is down so I can't block them" she said, still complaining about her capture, although the thought about food was pretty good right now. "I would like some food, but why would you buy it, when I can just go over there and take it, saving you the money?" she asked with a smirk and pulled her knife out.

Hitsugaya blinked at what she said. "Beacuse I am your owner now," he ordered her. "Put the knife away," he insisted as he crossed his arms, looking up at his Pokemon. "And because I have money. Trainer's have a stipend so that we capture pokemon," he reminded her. If she continued, he would have to find a way to punish her.

"Of course I had to get caught by a goody two shoes" Mayuko muttered in dissatisfaction, but did put her knife away like instructed. She wanted to keep complaining, but decided against it for now when she heard her stomach growl loudly again. "Fine, then purchase it if you must" she said, now crossing her arms as well, a little embarrassed her stomach would growl that loudly.
