A mostly spontaneous beach holiday was surely promising. A chance to escape from the regular, and of course, an opportunity to flaunt her tan upon her eventual return from this trip. On the other hand, it also meant that she would be away from her friends. And in a way, distancing herself from her rather active social life for a while. For six weeks, apparently, which was hardly a short time period. Especially for a twenty-two-year-old young lady who’d admittedly prefer to go on a holiday with her friends rather than her family. Madison thought she was old enough to do that, even though her parents insisted that she still needed their supervision.
While her dad was quick to meet her aunt at the door, Madison was just stepping out of the vehicle. “I thought it’d be bigger.” She had a look at the house that stood ahead of her, quickly putting her pink backpack on her shoulder. A simple dark t-shirt hugged her form on top, while a pair of denim shorts hugged her hips. Below the round sunglasses she wore, a forced smile stretched her lips as she offered a simple nod behind her father. “Hello.” She walked up to the siblings. It had been quite a few years since she saw her aunt. The woman didn’t look very different. She, however, was a bit taller now. And perhaps a tad wider below the waist.
“Dad?” After her brief greeting, Madison called out. “Hate to interrupt this, reunion. But…” Raising a hand, she pointed towards the car behind her with her thumb. “But I left my charger in my luggage.” A soft wind brushed through her wavy blonde locks as she continued. “And someone has to get it out of the boot.” Although she was capable of taking it out of the car herself, it wasn’t quite light, and she was feeling a bit lazy after the ride.
