It felt like years had gone by since the passing of her parents. Hard to believe it had only been a few months. Still though she didn’t have Time to grieve. She was too busy taking care of a husband, small child, daughter from the future, and a grief stricken little brother. The latter two of which were royally getting on her last maternal nerve. She felt like she’d given them all the time they needed. But chibiusa’s grades didn’t improve and shingo continued to show the same attitude problems both at home and at school. It was time she dealt with them with a little family meeting.

She’d finally gotten her baby asleep, Mamoru still wasn’t due home for some time so she figured now as good a time as any to deal with the unruly child and teenager. She gave a small sigh “Shingo, Chibiusa, please come in here.” She called out as polite as she could given the circumstances.

Chibiusa was thinking of watching some TV at the time. She should have done her homework, but she didn't feel like it. She felt empty, out of place in that house.
When Usagi called her, she got up from the sofa and walked away, shuffling her feet. Unlike Shingo, who she still heard crying from time to time, she felt like she couldn't shake that apathy.

Shingo, on the other hand, peeped out, rather hastily. "Is it a long thing?" he asked Usagi, he was wearing pants and a sweatshirt, he wasn't wearing the school uniform he had come back in, and he was holding a pair of shoes. "I have to go out, I don't have much time." Shingo's grades remained good, but the 15-year-old had begun to hang out with bad company.

“Yes it is. I don’t care come in here now we need to have a talk.” She instructed as she had pulled three chairs out from the table and taken a seat across from two chairs “Sit.” She instructed in a firm tone.

Shingo sighed, rolling his eyes and reluctantly reached for the chair, sitting on it looking annoyed, crossing his arms. He said nothing, but the rhythmic movement of his foot under the table indicated that he was in a hurry.
Chibiusa instead sat calmly, composed, for her that was just another distraction from homework that she would not have done.

“You two… what am I gonna do with you…” she thought outloud before taking a deep breath “Shingo you’re not going anywhere tonight. And Chibiusa you’re off the TV until your grades improve.” She explained quickly expecting immediate resistance.

And indeed that was what happened, almost instantly the protests arose.
Shingo in a much more vehement and angry way, while Chibiusa's were petulant, the tone of tantrums.
"You can't do this..."
"You don't have the right ..."
"... the new school ..."
"... I said I would go ..."
"... those stupid tests ..."
"... you can't stop me from going ..."
A mess of voices mingling, they were both standing up, Chibiusa had crossed her arms, while Shingo still held them by his sides, but they both had the same annoyed expression.

She held up a single finger, turning to Shingo “I have absolutely the right. You live under my roof, eat the food Mamoru and I provide and continue to grow in disrespect to us. And you. When was the last time I asked you to study and you actually did it? That tv is a simple distraction and I’m taking it away until I see an improvement.” She scolded firmly still keeping her seat.

Shingo clenched his fists. "They are waiting for me, I had a hard time making new friends!" He exclaimed, livid with rage.
"You can't tell me what to do, you're not my mother," he exploded. It was a bad, poisonous sentence, but double-edged because it was evident that saying it had hurt the boy just as much.
Even Chibiusa winced and almost trying to dissipate the wave created by those words, she stamped her foot on the ground. "You can take the TV away, but you won't solve a damn thing!"

She gave a sigh “I suppose it’s time to move on to step two of your punishment. Shingo come here. In addition to not seeing your friends, expect this same treatment if your arguments continue.” She warned as she lifted him by his under arms up and over her lap, raising her hand she began to harshly smack his jean clad bottom.

Shingo hadn't reacted immediately, he was a little shocked by how much those words had come back to hit him.
Also Usagi had always been very tall and he was a skinny fourteen year old, SHe didn't have much trouble getting him on her knees.
Shingo only really became aware of the surreal situation when the first sharp slap made him jump. "Ah!" he groaned, trying to struggle. "What ...", the situation was actually quite familiar.
Their mother often spanked Usagi for her bad grades in the past. He was better at not getting caught but every now and then the woman had spanked him too.
But he never would have thought that Usagi would have ever chosen such a solution.
He instinctively tried to free himself. "Leave me, I'm almost fifteen! I'm not a child!"

Chibiusa had been staring with wide eyes. But she was aware that Usagi was perfectly capable of doing it
