Upgraded: complete
As said in a message a couple of weeks back, we had planned to upgrade OTK, this has been mostly completed altho not everything went as smooth as hoped.
To cut down l on the techy talk, there were some issues when implimenting the upgraded and more secure forum version with the current skin/theme, so l had to rebuild some things based on a style that worked on a previous upgrade (basically l nicked the *.style file from yaoiai) and re-edit links and other random things back in to make it OTKs skin, which l will be working on over the next week or so to make sure l havent missed anything.
Now l would just like to take the time to mention that we have some new features:
Profile:
The whole user profile has now changed with a new look, and has somewhat of a myspace feel to it, from a friends system to a semi private note system (you could liken it to a sort of guest book)
Tags:
There is a new and improved thread tagging system, l admit part of it is minorly broke, as the port of the old tags didnt quite work (am in the process of fixing) however it offers more stable functionality.
Groups system:
Something that seemed to be with this new script update, not played with it but yet another myspace like feature.
Ajax Registration:
username exists check
passwords match/strength (also has a suggest password feature)
email check (checks first that there isnt a duplicate in the database and that they both match)
For the moment thats about all, still familiarising myself with some of the new features that are within this update of the forum script.
As with any update, please inform one of the admins if you see any issues that are present.
(we currently know about the tagging one, which lm currently looking into)
