Xenoblade Chronicles: Linking Between Worlds (for BoomJill)
In the world of Aionios, our band of heroes are sacrificing everything so that the endless war could end and they hope everyone can live normal lives. Now that’s very much a pipe dream. Even if they did defeat Moebius, it seems like the 10 term cycle may still be in effect and there’s no guarantee they would return with no Moebius in place. Stuff like this is what kept Mio up and night. She was on night watch to make sure monsters or robbers try to get the jump on her while the others slept. They decided to take turns every couple hours and now it was Mio’s turn. Well, Noah was insisting to do double duty for her or even stay with her. But Mio was not having any of it and sternly sent him to bed, looking and sounding like an old married couple in front of their friends. She was deep in thoughts as she was writing something in her diary. Sitting by a fire with the rest of her team seemingly fast asleep, unaware that her female friends were watching her in the distance. Sena, usually bright and cheery, looked very down as she watched Mio. “Mimi…” she sighed to herself, feeling powerless.
Though just as Sena was about to walk over to cheer her up, something that was about to change their lives forever happened. A large blue portal appeared in front of Mio, surprising the cat eared girl as she jumped to her feet and drew her blade from out of thin air. After a few seconds, she let her guard down. If this wasn’t an enemy attack, then what is it? It was like the portal was calling her, it was calming to look at like a blue see. Putting her weapons away, she started breathing heavy in nervousness and her chest started to get tight.
What the snuff is going on? Part of her feels like she should just ignore it but the colors coming from it were calling her name. Suddenly, she heard a female voice calling her name through it! It was foreign to her but also… familiar at the same time. She can’t explain it but she believes it can’t be her imagination! So with a deep breath, she walked in the portal and vanished in front of the onlooking Sena and Eunie. The petite powerhouse was blinking in surprise, having to pinch herself to make sure she wasn’t dreaming. She was brought back to reality though when the portal started to visibly fade, making Sena jump into action. “Hold on Mimi! I’m coming too!” She proclaimed as she ran toward the portal so fast that Eunie couldn’t stop her even if she wanted as she ran through the portal to see what was on the other side. If Eunie wanted to do anything besides stand there, she would have to come too. And when all the girls made their way through, the portal would close and disappear without a trace

When Mio appeared on the other side she was immediately stunned. This place… it was beautiful! The land and its creatures were prospering, there was no sign of a demolition event and nearby, there was some building. Unaware of what a house is, Mio assumed it was some sort of military hideout. While the location of this world is unknown to her, it feels very similar to Aionios but it’s definitely different. Is this what the world would look like if she defeats Moebius. Is this what she is fighting for? Her thoughts were interrupted as she was suddenly tackled to the ground. She gasped in surprise at the action before turning to be even more shocked at who did it. “Sena?!” Mio gasped as her friend looked up at her and grinned. “Oh thank the queen! You’re still alive!” Sena cheered as she got to her feet and rubbed the back of her head. “Well, I guess I am too!” She said cheekily, sticking her tongue out at her.
Mio rolled her eyes as she was stood up on her feet to join her friend when she saw another familiar face. “Eunie?! Please don’t tell me Noah’s here too…” She looked around but it seemed like it was just the 3 of them. “No! But the portals gone!” She gasped and put her head in her hands, maybe it was a mistake to come here… But as she was trying to think of something to do, Sena began to sniff the air. Food? Someone’s cooking! “Mimi! Food!” The one track mind Sena said as she ran towards the direction of the house. Mio gasped and chased after her friend.
Sena, also not being taught about houses and politeness of knocking on doors, just opened the door and began to walk in. “H-Hello?” Sena called out, ready to draw a weapon at moments notice. She followed her nose and found an empty kitchen with a giant pot on a stove. Everything was clean and spotless with pictures all over. It can’t just be a military base… But Sena’s growling stomach was controlling her mind as she walked over to the pot, practically drooling, as she took a spoon and took a spoonful of what was in the pot. Unfortunately for Mio and Eunie, they arrived just in time to see Sena take a bite. “Sena! Don’t eat that! It’s not yours!” Mio scolded as her friend had a spoon still in her mouth as she looked like she just fell in love. She tried to mumble something about how good it was but the mouth full of food and the spoon made it impossible to understand
