Star Wars: Dark Legacy

"We should be leaving hyperspace any moment now." Gavin told his padawan and his fellow master. The three Jedi had been contacted by Czerka corp representatives while on their way back from a successful peacekeeping mission in the outer rim. Their contact suggested she had an object that would be of great interest to the Jedi Order, and she might be persuaded to part with it for the right price.

Millie, Gavin's Padawan asked him and his partner Viras "what sorts of things do you reckon they found?"
Viras replied "You never know what you're going to find with them; they are archaeologists, in part, and some ancient relics they have uncovered are extremely dangerous. So please, listen to us and obey us at all time. Is that clear?"
"Yes sir." She meekly agreed.
"Alright, now hang on tight" the Twi'lek master replied, as the ship was jolted slightly as they left Hyperspace.

The ship came out of hyperspace near a desert planet. Around the planet was a ring of debris, including rocks and ship parts so battered it was impossible to tell when they had been destroyed or who might have owned them.

"This planet has seen war." Gavin said. "Someone used enough firepower to blow up what I guess was a small moon. The shockwave must have caused massive destruction planetside."

Millie shuddered; having been raised in the Jedi temple all her life, she was rather sheltered and felt insecure outside of its boundaries. However, she had to get past those insecurities if she was to advance in the ranks. Still, the thought of all the lives that must have been snuffed out in that great tragedy shook her.
Viras looked around, sadly. "What an absolute waste. This is what petty squabbles amongst oligarchs lead to; the needless loss of lives." He pondered.

(So is this in the same "peaceful" time period as last time, or is it in a more violent era of the SW universe?)

Gavin too the ship down near a makeshift spaceport. All around the cleared rubble were prefabricated buildings of the kind first-generation colonists were given when settling a new planet. And surrounding all of it was a barb wire fence, patrolled by armed guards.

A Czerka scientist came forth to greet them. "Ah, Master Gavin, Master Viras, and your apprentice. Thank you so much for coming along. Now please, follow me this way." She led them into a fortified bunker, where her higher-ups awaited them.
Millie asked her master "This place seems extremely dangerous. Is this planet still at war Master?"

"Watch yourself Millie." Gavin told her. "Czerka is not to be trusted. They deal in anything that can turn a profit, regardless of the Republic's laws."

The three Jedi were led into a room that was much nicer than the outside, with better furniture and an ornate rug. At a desk sat a woman in a business suit, her blond hair tied back. "Greetings Jedi, I am Alias Ran, head of Czerka Archeological Division. I hope your trip was untroubled."

Millie nodded. Regardless of her master's words, she felt something erie and fake about the corporation.
Viras was rather hot-blooded for a jedi, in good and bad ways. But he did know how to keep things pleasant. "On the contrary, our trip went seamlessly." He replied. "So, I hear that you needed our assistance for something you have uncovered?"

"Yes, let me explain." Alias stood, folding her hands behind her back. "You may not know this, but this planet was the sight if a major battle during the Sith Wars a thousand years ago. One of my archeological teams was combing this planet for Sith artifacts, which as I'm sure you know can fetch high prices here beyond the reach of the Republics laws about the trade in such things. But instead of a lightsaber or piece of armor, they discovered a live specimen in a sealed chamber."

Alias paused, letting the implications sink in. "I believe it to be a living Sith."

Millie's face turned deathly pale. A sith!! Could the stories be true? Was this as awful as she feared?! She clutched her master's hand, fearful.
Viras sketpticism, however, may have slightly calmed her. "A living sith... From a war fought ten centuries ago, encased in ice? That's highly unlikely; they'd have to be some sort of warlocks to do that, and those are just stories to frighten wayward children." He scoffed at the idea. "Still, as the Republic has sent us, we will investigate." He couldn't hide the distaste at their activities. They weren't digging up that accursed planet to learn anything... They just wanted to line their grimey pockets!
