Tamara was crouching on a rooftop, just wide enough from the edge that she could be seen badly from the streets, but close enough that she had a good view across the harbour and the jungles looming in the distance. The trading city of Umrrah had been her home for all her life and she knew every nook and cranny. With her small gang she stole what she needed...and as they were good at this "job" they seldom lacked anything. Right now she was chewing on a cream puff she had swiped from a baker apprentice, selling them on the street. It had been easy as stealing a lollipop from a baby. The cat folk girl started focusing her attention on the street, noticing an interesting figure. "Huh, a paladin.", she said and finished her cream puff. With a couple of flips she landed in a secluded alley, just when nobody was looking and landed cracefully on her hands and feet. Maybe this guy was fun to "play" with. Paladins usually were so stiff! She left the alley and started following the paladin in the crowd.

Torin was currently patrolling the area after having been informed of a recent increase in burglaries and the such. While it wasn’t uncommon for someone to have their things stolen, especially in a city such as this, the increase was alarming as it meant the thieves were getting more bold and frequent. As he walked through the streets, he would look out for any suspicious figures, paying careful attention to those who seemed to be following someone or lying in wait for something. He had caught a few people earlier, but now it seemed things had quieted down. As he continued his search, he would get the sense that someone had started to follow him, though he ignored it for now, guessing they’d probably see he was a paladin and simply leave him be.

Tamara kept following the Paladin, her instincts that she was "entering the lions den" so to speak, failing her. Really, she should have known that the paladin was looking for people who made trouble. And she definately was trouble. With a pointy tooth grin she approached the paladin and poked him in the back. "Hey Mr Paladin Sir. What are you doing here on the street? Don´t you have a holy mission or something to take care of?", she asked, sounding friendly enough, alltough there was a slight mocking tone in her voice.

He would continue walking, thinking the person would eventually leave him alone, but when they didn’t he would let out a soft sigh. Well seemed this would take longer than he thought. Torin didn’t bother defending against the poke, as he felt no killing intent behind it, so he simply turned to face whoever had disturbed him. He was surprised when his eyes laid upon a young cat folk girl, grinning up at him. It was just a child. He was used to children coming up to him of course, but he hadn’t expected one to try and get his attention from behind him.

“That doesn’t concern you little one,” Torin responded gently, not catching the tone she was using. “I’m protected the city, but I can’t do that while I’m being followed, now run along please. I’m sure your parents are worried about you.”

"I have no parents...", she said somberly. Somehow that comment had ruined her mood. Still, parents spank you and she was proud of the fact never having gone through this "shameful" ordeal. Her butt was spank free. She crossed her arms behind her back, looked at the paladin curiously, taking in every detail on his impressive armor, her tail twitching a bit. "Besides I am not little. I am a teenager. I turned 13 two months ago.", Tamara said proudly and grinned again. "Come on, lets play a game! Do you know how to play dice?", she asked, feeling playful still. She produced a bunch of dice made of marble. Suspiciously much to expensive for a "street rat". Cat folk children were notorious for being very playful and curious, much to their parents annoyance. This one seemed like no exception.

The comment about her parents made him take a pause. Well that would explain why the girl was wandering around alone, it was a miracle she had lived this long without anyone to look after her. Though living wasn’t really the right word, it was more like she had survived that long given she would’ve had to learn everything herself. “Little to me,” Torin corrected before raising an eyebrow at her suggestion to play a game. The dice she produced weren’t what he expected someone with no money to have, and he started to question how she got them, though he didn’t want to suspect a child of thievery. “Where did find dice such as these? They’re very hard to come by?”

"It was a gift.", she lied, quickly realizing she had made herself suspicious. But Tamara was canny and usually a good liar. But was it enough to fool a paladin? Some said their virtue and the divine authorities they served made them aware of the tricks of the wicked. Well, she was more a mischievous child then truly evil, had never hurt anyone physically that hadn´t intended to hurt her, but she was definately in need of a lesson. Speaking of that. She had a different idea. Smirking she placed the marble dice in a pocket on her belt and made some backflips, bringing some distance between her and the paladin. "I have an idea for a different game! Let´s see if you can catch me in that armor, you lazy paladin!!", she cried laughing, leaned down a bit and gave her slender little bottom two provocative pats, before starting to run.

Torin was skeptical when he heard that response, given he had heard plenty of lies due to his profession, but he didn’t see any reason why a child would lie so he decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. Of course, some had already told him he was too trusting of children, but he couldn’t help his trusting personality. Just when he was about to play along with the girl, she would flip away from him, declaring the start of a new game. When she ran off, he would groan, shaking his head. “Little brat needs a spanking,” he mumbled to himself as he chased after her.

While the statement was more of a one off comment, the time it was taking to catch her actually did make him consider just that when he caught her. She was a nimble little thing, her being a cat folk and thief helping her, and he struggled a bit to keep pace, but thanks to his training he was starting to gain on her.

"Whoa...", she said, as she looked back, he was starting to gain on her! Despite the armor! Wow, what a cool guy, she thought, grinning to herself. But she didn´t intend to loose, espacially since she had more or less put her bottom on the line. Hey, and what if she won? Unfair! Well, she usually was good at getting herself out of trouble again, so she deviced a simple yet clever plan. While he could run, he certainly could not climb! They were getting to the outskirts of town, were the slums were. So the girl could pretty easily put her claws into the softer material the houses were made of and climb upwards. As she did so and pulled herself over the edge of a particular high tenement building she started to feel more confident. "Hah, what are you going to do now, stupid paladin?!", she asked, leaning over the edge. She started to do a little dance, shaking her butt rather provocatively, almost like an erotic dancer...until she lost her balance and crashed into a cart of apples. "OW.", she said, rubbing the back of her head. Despite the scare though she was fine actually. As she started to get up and the owner of the cart started yelling at her she noticed another figure getting closer to her. "Okay okay...you win.", she said with a sight. "What do you want me to do? I suppose you want a price for your victory?", Tamara asked, thinking they had to make it "interesting".

As they continued to run through the town, Torin noticed they were getting further and further away from the high end part of town, and more towards slums, somewhere he had been on a few missions but had never been in long enough to know the area. If he didn’t catch her now, he most likely never would. Soon he saw her climb up to the top of one of the buildings and he started to slow down to look up at her. Damn. If not for the armor he was wearing, he would be able to climb up to her, but it weighed him down much more than he would like to admit. Well, he might as well let her be, even if the comment had annoyed him a bit. Just when he was about to turn away, he heard a yelp and looked over to see she was falling. His eyes widened and he went to see if she was alright after she had landed in the cart, momentarily forgetting about actually catching her. He let out a sigh of relief when he saw she was okay, not wanting to be the reason a child had gotten hurt, even if she was a thief, and soon his expression turned back into a stern one as he crossed his arms over his chest.

“There are two things I want,” Torin responded as he helped her up to her feet, though was careful not to let her go. “The second thing can wait though, first, I’ll be teaching you a lesson about lying and about stealing.” As he said that, he’d start to pull the teenager away, looking for somewhere more private, figuring he’d spare the girl’s dignity for the punishment he had in mind. Soon enough, he did find an area with a few less people around, and took a knee, starting to drag the girl across it.
