Journey Among the Stars (For Lance)

Somewhere nearing the Exodus Cluster the SSV Aegina was tasked with a scouting mission all things said. There were reports around the cluster of unknown activity and it was the crew's job to figure out what was going on. Commander Gwendolyn Diomedes was well know and respected among her crew even if her past left her in a bit of a sore spot light on the rest of the Alliance Navy. Though all things said the straight laced commander kept a strict code and only expected the best out of her crew at all points in time.

She often wore a professional military uniform dressed in all black yet was still tight around her body, which often lead to some of the crew giving her looks though none would dare be caught looking that's for sure. Today was nothing different as she sat in the navigation room waiting for the ship to reach its destination. Unknown to most of the crew this mission was a two part examination. Her current crew were mostly untested marinas out on there first foray into the unknown so this will give her what she needs to figure out who is ready and who is not. Though there is one maybe two among them that were here for another reason. A test of sort for the council, Humans have always been looking for more power in the Citadel and outside of getting a spot on the council the next best thing would to have someone part of the Specters. A young solider by the name of Tyr Meadows has shown promise both off and on the field in his way to command. He had been on missions that were close to suicidal but came out alive with all his crew in tact as well. He had a no casual record right now not matter how difficult the mission. The last few that he was one were some of the worse conditions she herself had ever had to report on but everyone came back, not without scars but alive non the less.

So with Andersons backing and Gwen's word he was allowed a test of sorts to see if he was worthy of undertaking such a thing. Not that he knew anything about this as of right now. For now the crew sat in silence waiting for the mission to go forth and them to arrive at the planet of the destination.

On the second floor of the Frigate where most of the crew had there shared rest quarters, Males on the left and females on the right. A young solider by the name of Jessica Nolan was just waking up and getting ready to head off towards a shower as well as checking her equipment. Jessica was part of the original crew that had to go face to face with a thresher maw on foot with Tyr. Due to his leadership and command though they all made it out of the situation with there lives and even killed the creature. When the crew was disbanded she herself was the only one that was assigned to the Aegina along with Tyr. Miss Nolan was a master at all weapons though never had any skills with tech or Biotics but she was always someone to rely on when push comes to shove with just her marksmanship.

Walking out of the woman's quarters she wore some long black cotton pants as well as a short black top that showed much of her midriff. Having always traveled in a mainly male crew all her life she did not care much for people to see her showing off some skin, it also helped the most of the men saw her as one of the boys due to her crude nature as well as bloodthirsty attitude out in the field. So she would exit out towel in hands as well as a small bag of all her things she would need and head off towards one of the two showering areas.

Tyr Meadows looked around, everyone had been a bit on edge and the scuttbutt from those on the command deck seemed to imply something big was happening for the military operation. No one knew anything for sure, no one had any idea least of all Tyr Meadows was certainly a ranked member of the crew. He was preparing for the mission and on the second floor he'd be getting ready as well for whatever was coming next.

Tyr had been one who was about to get ready for a shower and to get ready. As he was walking off there and glancing a bit around he'd see Jessica on the way there, the two had been on several missions together and he liked having her around. Because he was a biotic that did tech work, they had been complimentary to one another. Here he was in black shorts as well and no shirt as he had his things in hand for the shower.

"You either anything about the mission coming up Jess?" He asked her curiously and glanced her, both with bags for their shower things and towels.

The SSV Aegina was a fully staffed Alliance Navy Frigate and thus men and woman of the Navy often were seen in states such as these. Most did not seem to mind it but its not uncommon for some of the newer recruit to be a blushing mess but Jessica was not one of them. The second floor of the ship was mainly the sleeping quarters, mess hall and showers as well as some of the rec rooms for relaxation.

Jessica nodded her head with a soft smile, "I can't so for sure you know the important people like to keep things under lock and key when they can, For now we just lay low and wait until we get there, Heck I don't even know the planet were suppose to go to yet". Having most of the crew in the dark did not help morale much but its also not uncommon to keep spys from learning information before its needed to know. The Redhead would make her way over to the showers, "All we can do is just keep track of things, I will be heading down to check on my guns once the shower is done".

He would walk though the mess hall to get to the showers, a few of the crew was talking at a table nearby while the cook, a portly woman was buys working away behind the counter, her food was not the best but military rations could only give you so much.

"Yeah, I'll probably be joining you down here Jess." He told her and gave her soft smile as well. "Something doesn't quite feel right and I'd rather get some prep in in case we have to hot drop in the mission area." He explained and gave her a pat on the shoulder. "See you down there." He grinned and headed off as well.

He'd look over at the mess hall and the area around them, it wasn't best but it was a military cafeteria, not exactly a 5-star meal at a great restaurant. He'd be heading to the showers to clean up.

Jessica would vanish from site as she entered the showers, greeting some of the other girls in the process while he would pass though the mess hall and into the showers himself. Once inside he was greeted by another one of the guys. He was a newer recruit and the only thing he knew about the man was he was a Biotic and was not quite the most manly of males on the crew.

The man a longer brown hair and a slim body though its not something Tyr himself often cared to look at. "Evening Tyr were getting close to the drop off zone is rumors are correct are you ready?" He would ask from his 'station' in the showering room. The kid was named Zeke and was often one that was sent with him and Jessica when they were told to go into threes.

"Hey, Zeke. Sadly I've heard nothing really about it, other than scuttle from the command deck. Though most of my contacts up there are keeping their lips tighter than a virgin's ass." He stated while getting into his shower stall and getting to work.

"We'll probably be heading down together with Jessica again she's been getting ready as well." He told the lad as he didn't seem to be bothered by him too much. He was getting in a proper shower to make sure he'd be clean and not leaving behind a scent in case any enemies have trackers for scents.

He would nod his head and say, "Well if thats the plan than I will head back to my room and make sure my impants aren't malfunctioning so that were good to go, Thanks for putting up with me I know i'm not your old crew but I hope that you can trust me to cover your back while on the field"

Zeke Altman was as green as they come this was his first major mission outside of the Sol System. He has been on ships all his life though but never done anything like this but he was cleared to go and here he was.

Tyr gave him a nod and a thumbs up. "Yeah mine should be fine already I have the L3 so I'm pretty stable to begin with at least." He remarked as he was showering and getting ready. "I know rookie, just keep your head on a swivel and watch Jessica and I's sixs and we'll be okay." He assured him while he continued finishing his shower.

Zeke was still stuck with the L2 models so he had to make sure everything was well before going out in the field else he would get massive headaches. "of course Sir I will make sure that everything is good from all around".

Zeke may not be as strong with marksmanship as Tyr or Jessica but he did have an eye for details and being able to read people. He has often been able to tell when someone was up to no good and alert it to either Tyr or whoever was on the Radio at the time. "Well I will see you around than". The lithe male would wrap up before heading off towards the small dry area to redress before exiting the shower room leaving him alone now with his thoughts.

"Later Zeke." He gave a wave and after being left alone in the shower he'd finish up there, he had seen a movie with men and women sharing a communal shower in a military situation. Pity he didn't do the same he'd like to see Jessica in the shower. But he'd finish up, dry off and then redress to head out and prepare his gear including his tech gear he used.
