The rain came down hard as people crowded the streets, having finished their work for their and heading home to escape from the constant downpour. Normally a thief wouldn’t like for there to be so many witnesses around, but when you were a pickpocket, the more people that were around, the easier it was to hide. Said thief was a petite person, no bigger than a child, and was covered in a jacket to protect from the rain, and to hide her face. The girl moved swiftly as she looked for the perfect victim, someone who was paying to much attention to the rain to protect their wallet. Perfect. As she made off with the man’s wallet, she’d chuckle to herself, running off to find somewhere to hide. She knew she’d probably have to use the money fast, as the moment he realized he didn’t have his credit cards they’d probably be cancelled. At least she knew she’d have dinner for the night at least.

What the little pickpocket didn't know, was that one of those people in the crowd was a police officer, Captain Maria Connor. and well today she was wearing jeans and a T-shirt and a rain coat, she spotted the little pick pocket right away, carefully following the youngster as they went around.

Soon enough the girl had returned to the place she called home, a little alleyway that held the box she slept in as well as the various things she had taken to make life at least slightly easier. This included a pillow, a little stuffy, a few snacks, and food that wouldn’t spoil for a long time.

After heading over to her box, the girl would set the wallet down before looking for something to protect against the rain, though her ears twitched as she sensed something. She was sure it was probably a rat, confident no one had seen her, and continued to look for a cover. “It’s really raining hard today,” she mumbled to herself.

Maria appeared almost as though out of thin air, "Excuse me Young lady." She said in a tone that would freeze anyone. all with a silently gentile, but rock solid hand on the young girls shoulder.

Well looks like there actually was someone there with her, and whoever it was sounded very scary. The girl flinched as she heard the voice, more so when she felt a hand come down on her shoulder. She immediately tried to run away, not even looking back to see who the person was.

Maria carefully grabbed the girl. "Excuse me. Young lady. I believe that You and I need to have a conversation." She said, showing her badge to the girl.

Shoot, no getting away now. She continued to struggle, pulling away even more once she had seen the badge. There was no way she gonna talk to a cop, not after the last time she had spoken with one. As she continued pulling away, the hood a top her head would start to slip, revealing a head of red hair, as well as two fluffy fox ears that sat upon the girl’s head.

"I need you to Calm down." Maria said as the girls ears were revealed. Maria to her credit wouldn't have treated her any different had she known before hand. "I'm not going to hurt you." she added knowing that the girl might be worried about that.
