Pokémon: Whole New World (for Bombay)

The sun is shining as a new day has begun in the Paldea region. While everything seemed completely normal to all of the inhabitants of this region, something was happening behind the scenes that no one could imagine. The sky flickered as if someone turned on a switch for just a second before turning back to normal. Little did anyone that notice it realize, that flick will change the course of history for Paldea forever

Meanwhile, in a house along the coast of the region, a mother opened the window to open a brand new day. Her daughter will beginning her first day at the Uva Academy and the excitement is building for her mother but she also couldn’t help but be a bit nervous. They moved all the way from Galar to Paldea so her daughter could get the best education possible but she also remembered the times she got in trouble in her other schools as she hoped this won’t end in the same embarrassment

Juliana isn’t sure how to feel about her new life in Paldea. She just recently moved here from Galar because her mother wanted her to have a better education, but that means she also left her friends and old life behind. It was beginning to wain on the girl as she looked out the window. The bright sunlight hit her pale face as she gently sighed. Normally, she’d wake up to the chirping of the galarian birds by her windows, now, just the sounds of Lechonk oinking. It’s going to take some time to get used to that.

Looking down, she supposes she can’t stay like this forever. Her mother would surely come upstairs and force her to eat breakfast before her big day. Stepping out of bed, the girl slipped on her slippers and made her way down the stairs. With a small frown plastered on her face, the girl scooched past her mother to start some toast without even saying ‘hi’.

The mother looked at the pajama clad girl and gave her a confused look. She should be astatic to be starting her adventure like this but she’s coming off very slow and sluggish this morning. Like she would rather crawl in bed and stay there. “Is everything ok? You seem to have a lot on your mind this morning.” The mother said as she set a plate of eggs and bacon in front of her daughter. “And the fact you’re still in your pajamas is concerning to me.”

“Mmmmmm…” the girl reapplied at first as she went to the fridge to get a glass of juice, but even she knew that wasn’t a good enough response for her mother. Even if they had this argument time and time again, this might be her last chance. “Well…I was just thinking about this new school and Galar and wondering if maybe I can go back?” the girl asked. “I just don’t want to go to this new school. What if the work is too hard, what if they hate me, what if I can’t handle it. Then what? Then we made this whole trip for nothing. Why not cut our losses before it starts?”

“Oh sweetie…” the mother said as she sat down at the table and looked at her daughter with an understanding smile. “I get being nervous and uncomfortable in an unfamiliar setting, but you need to realize that the struggles and stumbles you have have here will only make you stronger. I’m sorry you had to leave your friends behind in Galar but you worked so hard to get into this school that you can’t quit now.”

“Uuuuuuuuuuuuugh” she was afraid she’d say that. Putting her head on the table, her groan only filled the air. She can’t help that she’s a little brainiac! She only applied for this grant to impress her teachers! “But why can’t I quit now, I didn’t even start? Why can’t we pack everything up and go back? I was happy, things were normal. But now there’s birds being shot out of the sky by rocks from little pink gremlins and there’s weird bugs in silky circles, and no trains! How am I supposed to get around mum?” she complained. “I just…ugh, I should have never applied”

“Come on, let’s not have an attitude about this. Everything will be fine. You don’t want to give a bad first impression when you go to school.” The mother said, trying to rub her back soothingly as she couldn’t help herself as she smiled at her daughters complaining. “I’m sorry you’re having a rough morning but I just signed the permission slip for the teachers to spank you if you don’t do the school work or give them a hard time. You don’t want to end up with a sore butt on your first day, do you?”

“...This isn’t an attitude…” her daughter argued, they both know what her attitudes look like. In all honesty, this is her being civil. “Ugh, that makes me not want to go even more! Why did you have to sign that mom?” She groaned. Even her back being rubbed didn’t help these nasty feelings. “I won’t end up with one if I don’t go to school. It’s beginning to weigh a lot in the favor of me really not wanting to go you know? That might be the straw that breaks the camerupts back, similar to how in the ancient periods, the kidnapping of the most beautiful woman prompted a war across seas and countries” She can be a little brainiac when she wants to be.

“Enough of that young lady. Now we have a guest coming any minute now so let’s get you changed into your school uniform. You don’t want them to see you in your pajamas do you?” The mother asked as she pulled the chair out from under the table so her daughter could stand easily. “I’m not afraid to march you to your room and change you myself if you continue to give me a hard time!” She threatened, giving her a look saying that she will do it too. Her daughter rarely acts this way. Perhaps the new environment is causing her to lash out and think irrationally

“But…but…ugh…” Why would she think her mother would listen to her? She never does, she’s so far in her own little world, she bets her mother doesn’t even hear her. Grumbling, the girl admitted “I honestly couldn’t care less, these are pretty cute pjs” she explained. Squeaking as she was pulled away from the table, she held onto her chair for support. “I…grrr…I’m not giving you a hard time, simply expressing my opinions. Perhaps you don’t know the difference” the girl shot back one more word before she stood up and began marching off to her room. She knows better than to beat a dead horse, but she is not one happy camper! This is definitely not how she wanted to start her day.
