(How old should she be?)

Kentaro was the uncle of a young girl he was taking care of ever since the unexpected death of her parents. Sometimes though he was a bitinattentave as far as guardians go. Some teenagers might have approved of that, but Kentaro wasn´t sure about the girls feelings. Maybe she needed him more. One thing was certain, though. If she was around him she was usually a brat.

The middle aged man was sitting in front of Tv, watching the evening news as he sat relaxed on his big couch. It was a nice apartment. Sadly the rent was big, too. Good thing he had a well paying job. After his work day was over he hat quickly grabbed some chinese takeout and went home, paying not much attention to his surrounding. After a while he remembered his charge. Better he checked how she was doing!
"Rei, are you there??", he called loudly, not wanting to get up. That kid, oh boy was she a bother. Which didn´t mean he didn´t care about her. She had lost her parents young after all. Kentaro thought the griefing period was done, though. So yeah, were was she?

(Is it okay we call the girl Rei?)

Rei was currently in her room, having just arrived home herself. She had been wandering around town rather aimlessly and ran back home when she realized the time. She had just climbed through her bedroom window when she faintly heard her uncle yell for her. After a moment, she walked downstairs with a raised eyebrow. “Not sure where else I’d be. This town is kinda boring.” She muttered, giving a light groan as she stretched in her standing position.

"True.", Kentaro admitted. The town really was boring. "Good thing I have a job that keeps me busy and the rent paid.", he added, chuckling. "There is chinese for you if your hungry. You like chinese, right?", he asked, pointing at a package with noodles and duck meat. It was pretty good, at least when you weren´t eating it all the time.
The middle aged man turned around, looking at the girl now as they spoke.

“I think.” Rei said with a short nod, thanking him before going over and getting some on a small plate. She started to eat with a slight grin, shifting lightly as she sat, her free hand rubbing her leg absentmindedly.

"Good, then sit down with your uncle and watch the news!", he suggested and allowed her to sit next to him...giving her a little space on the couch. When she was done he wanted to place his hand on her shoulder fondly, like uncles do. Maybe he shouldn´t have? Give her more space? He wasn´t thinking much, instead focusing on a complicated news story.
