A preventive experiment (for Gus1996)

This is the planet Ypsilon-19, a newly terraformed planet on the Ursa Minor System. Rhis was the planet picked for an experiment. After some centuries of rejuvenation technology, the crime rate has been decreasing, however over the last decades it seems it had plateaued. No matter what happened, crimes were still there.

After a careful deliberation, the goverment decided to set a test. Instead of reforming criminals, they were going to work with the primary source. Children. So, in that planet they decide to apply the same rules they applied to penitatas… but to real children.

Marie was just an 8 years old who was going to the planet in a transport. She came from Earth and she had been selected for the experiment. Until she was 15 she would live with foster parents and she would endure the same life as a hard time penitata, in a small town where all penitatas were girls, to avoid any boys who, later, could distract the girls. She had been sobbing all the trip, but now, the autopiloted pod was landing and she was ready to meet her new parents.

Jack Valenter was a former penitatas parent who, after being a parent to many naughty boys and girls had rejuved himself out of old age and had "retired" to Ypsilon-19 as a young adult (25 years old) to change his life by living a more quiet life, away from the commotion that was part of everyday life in a penitatas neighbourhood, since with all these spankings happening all the time, and in public too, these neighbourhoods were often quite noisy, especially on SPDs (Special Punishment Days).

That being said, after you've lived 2 cycles as a penitatas parent, all those commotions stay with you, and Jack was, by now (after spending 20 years on this new planet), starting to realize that he actually missed all that commotion, after all, this new planet was just that : a new planet, and as such, not only were there very few people around (since most people don't want to live on a recently terraformed planet because that might mean not having access to some of their usual comforts), all the people that had come were like Jack, adults who came to work.
Now granted, after 20 years some couples had formed and some children were born, but with an average ratio of 1-2 children for every settlement (village), life was just way too quiet.

And that's when, out of nowhere, the human federation had announced it's intent of holding an experiment, and that experiment had 2 requirements:
1) a new or newly terraformed planet with low population (so it would be easier to monitor the experiments progress and results)
2) that planet's population should be open to accepting new children into their homes and treating them in accordance with the experiment's requirements. (as if they were hard time penitatas)

Once Ypsilon-19 was chosen as the planet that best fit the experiment's requirements, it's government officials started surveying who had experience with penitatas handling in the past, and our good old Jack, at the time 40 years old, ended up being chosen as a teacher for all the other inexperienced parents-to-be.

Back to the present, Jack is now 45, and has already taught quite the number of parents, which convinced the government that he was now disposable enough to tend to a child of his own (since others could take his place as a teacher/advisor), and so, Jack is now at the landing pad, waiting for his future daughter, Marie, to arrive.
She was a very special girl behaviour-wise (according to her real parents, and to details we discussed on PMs which my esteemed colleague here seems to have forgotten to mention in her backstory), sometimes acting like any normal 8 year old child, and other times, acting way more mature than one would expect :
Like when she realized she had been acting way too naughty, and, unbelievably to her parents, had requested to be volunteered into this experiment (a choice she was sure to be regretting by now, and which her parents at first tried to discourage her from making).

Jack had been informed that his soon-to-be-daughter would be a green-eyed blonde wearing 2 cute braids and a white dress with flower patterns. As for the man himself, since he had been working as a lumberjack before the experiment started, he was brown haired and bearded, and also had a 210cm tall, 140 kg fridge-like build, which made him extremely recognizable, even from afar ; He could be quite strict when needed, but was mostly easy going (although that would have to change now, if he was gong to have to treat Marie as a hard-timer).

And so he waited, at the landing pad with a sign with Marie's name written on it.

As the landing pod made the final adjustments, Marie held her breath. At this point, she was feeling some regret from her decision. While at the beginning it all seemed like an adventure and like a duty, now she regretted it, as it was clearly a very fast made decision. She had that flaw, her former parents always told her that she was very clever but also very impulsive.

The decision to be sent to the planet for being treated as a hard timer wasn't an easy decision. As she was travelling though the dark space, even if she made the most of the part sedated, the only hour she was awake, the last hour was enough to recall what happened. It was on a winter day, after three months of the new school year. She had some exams and her parents always insisted on how much she had to study. Marie lived close to a penny neighborhood, so she was used to seeing penitatas being spanked for bad grades. She had also been spanked occasionally, as many other non penny girls. There weren't as common or harsh as the ones given to penny, but she knew how a paddle felt on her bottom.

That day, she forgot to study and found herself in the middle of a science exam she had no idea about it. Of course, she panicked, and she started to think. She needed to take a good grade; otherwise, she would meet the paddle. It was then when she had her great idea. Her parents always told her that she mustn't cheat on exams because if she cheated, she was cheating herself. And she used to agree. But she wasn't going to cheat herself. She planned to cheat now to answer the questions, and then she would study at home, to ensure she knew the topic. It was the same but in different order, right? Nothing that bad, right?

Well, of course, it didn't end well, and she was caught. Her grade was an immediate F, and she had her parents called to school. The problem wasn't the F, the thing was she was too young to start cheating, so the strict school put them over warning. That night, Marie went to sleep without supper and with a very sore bottom from a paddling. She was spanked by mom and dad and her bottom was stinging all night.

Then came the doubts. At the following exams, all teachers were monitoring her closely. She noticed it, and while she asked why they were controlling her, they all explained she broke their trust once. So she would need to gain their trust again. Probably it didn't help that she was far more intelligent and mature than the vast majority of the children in her class. In other conditions, she could have been tested for high capacities. However, the experiment became public. And here she saw an opportunity to gain the trust of people again.

Her parents, of course, opposed. After all, they didn't want her girl to be that far, alone with an unknown parent. Penitatas parents were trusty, they were among the most trusted people, still it was their little girl. But when Marie commented of the experiment at the school and that she wanted to take part, the school, surprisingly, allowed and even recommended the parents to send her. They exposed that if the girl had high capacities, she could make bad decisions due to getting bad companies. It was safer for her to be controlled and monitored. So, at the end, they agreed and she, at first, felt happy that she was going to get the lost trust back.

But now... As the pad stopped and opened, she felt empty. Her only remnant from her past life was her teddy bear. For the travel, the government handed her a spacial suit, and she had no luggage, since she was told she would have everything in her new home. Finally, she went out with small steps, her eyes adjusting to the light of a planet again.

Luckily for her, she was the only one landing today. She checked her hands, where two E letters were where the K should be, E for experimental. Then, she raised her sight and saw a big man. Brown hair and tall. Also, strong looking. He was the only one besides security, so it was easy. Still, she felt a sudden moment of shyness as she walked towards him. He looked far more intimidating than her former dad.

"Excuse me... I am Marie, and I am the girl who had to land today for my experiment." She looked at hi with her bright-green eyes. "Are you perhaps my new parent?" Her voice was soft, and she looked at him while waiting for an answer, holding with her right arm her teddy bear.

"yes I am" said Jack as he kneeled, putting one knee on the ground to be closer to her, so she wouldn't feel so intimidated by his huge build.

he then picked her up under her arms and sat her on his lap so they could talk face-to-face

"my name is Jack and I'll be your new daddy ... or uncle, if you'd prefer that" he said using as sweet a voice as he could, so as to not scare the child as soon as she arrived.

"is there perhaps somewhere you'd like to go eat before we head to my house ?" he asked her figuring she must be quite hungry after her long sleep, and since the landing pads were becoming quite busy since the experiment started, many restaurants had opened near them (like in our airports, you could find all kinds of foods).

"now then, I've heard from a little birdie that someone seems to have requested to be put in this experiment ... is that correct ?" he asked her as they got up and started heading to her chosen restaurant.

"I suppose you already know what's going to happen once we reach my house right ? but besides that, what do you know, or what did they tell you about this experiment ?" he asked her to see if she really knew what she was getting herself into.

She needed some moments to think if she wanted to call him daddy or uncle. Daddy sounds far better, however, if she picks daddy wouldn't that mean she is forgetting her former daddy and mommy? As she thought, she bites her lower lip, a characteristic thing of her when she is nervous.

"Uhm, I think I will call you papa if that's okay. You are not my uncle, but that way I can have a daddy and a papa." Then she made a pause and asked with some hesitance: "is that okay?"

The sole mention of the food made her stomach grumble. Yes, she had some food, but, besides the small menu they gave her before going to the pod, she had been without food or water. It was for safety purposes, but still, she started to feel hungry. There was an odd thinking about the food, as she recalled penitatas often got some yucky food. Still, she didn't ask, as she wondered what would have to eat.

"Well, I don't know, maybe you can pick a nice place, and we eat something?" She was curious, looking at everything. It was the first time she was in the landing area of a spaceport, so she was looking at everything.

As she started to walk, she heard the questions that she wondered if he was going to ask. With a smile, she answered at the first one, and then the smile faded when she listened to the second one.

"I asked to be on this experiment, yes. I... Well, I cheated on an exam and most people stopped trusting me. They also say I am very clever, too much even, so I need to be supervised. I asked to be here, and my teachers told me it was a great idea. So... Here am I"

After a small pause she fidgeted nervously before answering Yeah, she knew a little bit, for the things that were spoken at the school, but she didn't have the full picture.

"yes that is fine" he said referring to her calling him papa

"how does a pizza sound ? it's quicker than a normal restaurant if you're really hungry" he said as he led her towards the spaceport's pizzaria.

"well, yes ... but actually no ... but also yes ..." he said trying to find the words to explain the misconception he had just heard from her, without traumatizing her.

"you see ... you know you'll be treated like a normal hard-time penitatas, right ?" he asked her before continuing:

"penitatas in general, and hard-timers even more so, are being punished for committing crimes, so they have to get maintenance spankings that go down from 4 spankings per day for hard-timers, all the way down to 1 spanking per month for soft-timers, according to the sentence handed down by the judge, as those are the spankings that you have earned through your crime.
And while it is true that the better and the longer you behave, the quicker the number of those maintenance spankings go down, it is also true that there are limits below which a penitatas will never go as long as she's not upgraded from a hard-timer to a soft-timer.
As for how hard those spankings are, they should be comparable to the punishment spankings you're used to getting from your parents" he explained and then paused to let her digest what he'd just told her, then, he continued:

"we then have their normal punishment spankings, which yes, are harder than yours, because they are after all adults, so they already learned how they should behave, but that's not your case, so I'll cut you some slack here and there" he reassured her, and continued explaining:

"They also get SPDs or Special Punishment Days, on days that are either Holydays, like Christmas, and on other special days, like their birthdays. Those spankings are to help you remember how bad your crime was, so the more serious the crime you committed, the more SPDs you'll have.
And on those days specifically, we, the parents, are obligated by law to give the pennys in our care a certain number of full force spanks, without holding back, no matter which implement we are wielding, and if we don't, then we end up becoming penitatas ourselves, since we'd be interfering negatively and hampering their rehabilitation as the judges love to say." he told her.

"now, last but not least, are the so called just because spankings, do you have any idea on why they have this name ?" he asked before answering :
"because of the SPDs, most people that become penitatas parents are people that like spanking others, so the judges also add in between 3 and 0 of these just because spankings, so the parents can spank their charges just because they felt like it, so they stay happy themselves and don't end up building up anger or other negative emotions that would lead them to mistreat or even go as far as kill their charge because they couldn't deal with all the emotions that caring for someone on this level imparts on you." he then finished by telling her:

"now, I know that's a lot to hear, so if you didn't understand something don't worry about it, you can just ask me and I'll try to answer more simply, or you can wait until we get home, where we'll find the letter from the judge that authorized your inclusion in this experiment, as well as how many spankings from each type you'll get." and as he finished speaking they'd arrived at the local pizzaria, where a waiter greeted them:

"hello there, would you like a table for 2 ?" he asked

"yes please" Jack answered

"right this way" answered back the waiter showing them to a nearby table, where Jack and Marie proceeded to sit down and start looking through their menu

"feel free to let me know when you're done choosing and I'll come take your order" the waiter said as he then left them to look through the menu.

after a while Jack said to Marie, "I think I'll have a Napolitana, and you ?" he asked

"YAAAY PIZZA!!!!" Marie almost jumped as she heard that word. She only took pizza on special days, so she wouldn't say no to that. Her new papa was SOOO COOL. She was more than happy to be with him, and she quickly forgot about the trip and the experiment. Until...

Her papa went serious all of at sudden. They were arriving at the place, to the restaurant, and she heard with care what he was telling her.

"But... But... Spanked for not doing nothing bad? " She almost raised her voice there, feeling nervous as he kept on talking. "I don't understand. I mean, I know the rules say if I am naughty, I get a spankie. I know because this is the same for all kids. But why, you will give me spankies if I am good?" She lowered her head, and tensed her shoulders. However, her papa kept on talking. So, it was more EVEN MORE.

"Wait!" She looked at him as they arrived at the restaurant. She had heard it all, and she didn't want to eat. Now her tummy felt funny and she didn't want anything. "So, let me see if I understood, papa because I am feeling scared." She could feel her eyes starting to feel wet, as she whimpered. Her new papa had explained something that seemed a promise of a lot of pain.

"So, we have the maintenance, that you say is daily. Those are even if I am good, so those are good girl spankies, right? Then the bad girl spankies. Then, you spoke of special punishment days that are even harder! " At this poing she was raising her voice without notticing and many people in the pizza restaurant started to look at there. Some smiled, since it wasn't an uncommon situation. "And then the just because? It isn't fair at all! I only copied two questions on the exam! "

Marie felt her body tremble as she was panicking. No, that wasn't right. It coudn't be right. It was just too much. No, no, that wasn't what she was thinking. Her teachers didn't told that. She though she was going to be supervised and such. Not spanked THAT much. No, no, that wasn't possible.

"I want to go home! " She raised her voice even more. "I want to go back home, I want to go back home, I WANT TO GO BACK HOME! " Even if she was more intelligent, even a bit more mature, she wasa children. And there, she was throwing her very first tantrum in that planet.

"I don't want a stupid pizza, I WANT TO GO HOME PLEASE!!!"

"well ... so much for a calm start ..." thought Jack, as he pushed his chair away from the table, got up, walked to Marie, grabbed her and brought her back with him to his chair where he sat down before sitting her down on his lap facing him and hugging her with both of his arms so she would feel somewhat comforted as he tried to verbally calm her down before resorting to other means.

"Marie, calm down sweetie, nobody said YOU would be spanked that much" he said trying to sound as soft as possible to defuse her tension and thus stop her tantrum

"I only told you what normal kids that are sent into this experiment end up getting, since they are sent because they're misbehaving so bad, that their parents believe they'll become criminals if left as they are, but you weren't sent into this experiment, were you ? no, you, yourself, requested to be allowed into it, so I'm sure you're not going to get anywhere near that number of spankings" he told her still using his softest voice, believing he wouldn't have to deal with a crazy judge that would go overboard on them, since he, himself, hadn't yet seen the sentence she'd been dealt, as it had only been sent to his home once he was on his way to pick her up.

The hug and the comfort somewhat worked, even if at the beginning she pushed his hands a bit.

"NO! Let me return to my home. I don't want that." At this point, all the restaurant was looking at them. A few shared empathetic gazes, but for the majority, the gazes weren't of empathy, but of discipline. It was crystal clear that most of the customers though she was being annoying, and she needed a corrective. Some even verbalized it.

Marie tried to breathe as instructed, but she kept on crying.

"But you told me a lot of spankies. So, even if I am not getting in trouble, I am being spanked! WHY? WHY I SHOULD BE SPANKED IF I AM GOOD?" While she wasn't on a tantrum, she was still raising her voice and she frowned, making a cute but angry face.

"I am not hungry, I want just to go home. " She asked for that. "And now!" Her voice was lower, but still demanding. It was clear, even if she had a good heart, she had a bit of an angry envelope, and also she could be a bit bossy. Perhaps at the school that wasn't a problem, even with normal parents wasn't a problem. But she wasn't there anymore. She was still in a bad mood, grumpy and angry about the situation, and she wasn't going to submit to those rules. She was a good girl!

"Now, now, Marie, let's calm down a bit more and I'll explain everything better" said Jack as he lightly pushed Marie's head sideways into his chest so that her ear would, by virtue of being pressed into his chest, clearly hear his calm heartbeat, which should help her calm down faster, in conjunction with the fact that he was using his other hand to rub her back in a soothing motion.

"you see Marie, we can go home if you really want that, but are you really sure you don't want to eat anything before we go ? It is a 3 hour long drive from here to my home after all." Jack asked her hoping that the change in subject would distract her enough so that she'd focus on something other than her future spankings.

while Jack was aware that some onlookers might disapprove of his apparent softness, he also believed that everything had it's time, and since she had noticeably calmed down from her initial tantrum outburst, now wasn't the time to re-ignite it by telling her she'd just earned herself a spanking.
He thought it would be far better to leave dealing with her outburst sometime later, when she had calmed down enough to notice all the onlookers and their annoyed expressions, and probably feel guilty enough that she wouldn't oppose his decision.
She had after all, requested to be included in an experiment where she'd be treated as a hard-time penitatas, so it wouldn't surprise Jack, if Marie ended up doing more than just not opposing her impending spanking, but actually asking for it herself, if all the attention and disapproving looks from the onlookers reminded her of the day she broke the trust of all her school teachers.
