Knuckles entered the front room of the apartment to find that it was a wreck. Tell tale signs of running, explosions, general mischief, and thievery were apparant. Knuckles became redder than usual and was ready to wallup someone.

"Is anyone home," he asked, keeping calm, but failing to mask the noise of annoyance in his voice.

Tikal heard the red echidna and thought "Oh-oh...." Before going to him.In fact Rouge had tried-again-to steal the Master Emerald while Knuckles was gone,but she hadn't counted on Tikal choosing that time to show up(In Sonic Adventure she went into the world of the Master Emerald in the ending,but could come back anytime,and for purposes of the story she has a body.).Mayem insued as the former guardian and the bat thief chased,exploded,whacked,and just plain beaten each other up as they fought,Rouge to steal the M.E,and Tikal to protect it in Knuckles's absence(with unfortunate consequences to the appartment...).She just hoped Knuckles would understand her....he is know for his "punch first and ask questions later to what is left of the poor thing" temper....

Tails was hanging from the flagpole by his underwear outside the apartment, as Rouge laughed up at him.
"This isn't funny Rouge! Knuckles is going to kill you when he finds out!" he yelled out, making its way into Knuckles' window, right to him.
"Whatever! He'd have to catch me first!" she said, and smirked as Tails winced as he was moved a little. "Hurts, eh?" she chided, smirking bigger.
"YOU KNOW IT DOES YOU HAG!" Tails shrieked at the bat, tears falling from his eyes. She'd made sure that the wedgie gave his front plenty of attention as well, and had inserted her heel there for insurance.
"So what are you going tio do about it?" she asked.
"...KNUCKLES!!!!!!! HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP MEEEEEEEE!!!!" the fox yelled.
"He's not even home little boy, I have all the time in the world to torture you." she said, not knowing he WAS home. She flew up, and slowly started to push the front of her shoe between Tails' legs, causing the boy to cry further.

Tikal heard a scream and told Knuckles after looking outside the window,"That's her!That's the bat thief that I was fighting to help you protect the Master Emerald.So can we talk about home destroying later and go after her?Tails really needs our help there." The female echidna said with relief that she could avoid the subject-and Knuckles wrath-for some time.

A wave passed over Knuckles then. He looked as though he'd come to grips with the fact that everything in existence was meant to screw him badly. He walked outside to see Rouge torturing Tails. This was a dilema. He knew that Tails was probably involved in the destruction and so was Rouge, as well as Tikal. He knew others were probably involved. But now, he was worried (mildly) about Tails. He picked up a rock and proceeded to hurl it at Rouge, hitting her wings and knocking her down from flight. Knuckles stocked angrily over to her, his fury seething in his eyes and breathing. He grabbed the flagpole, broked it down, and sat Tails to the ground.
"I suppose that it'd be useless just to say how angry I am?" he said somewhere between dryly and furiously, his eye twitching. He reached out to grab Rouge by the ear.

Tikal tryed to heal Tails while saying nervously,"A-are you all right?D-don't worry,Knuckles will probably punch the living daylights out of Rouge,so angry that he is...." She was trying to confort him,but her voice was nervous.She was still scared,because knowing Knuckles he would probably think something like,"She may have a good reason,but still demolished my house..." Tikal sighed nervously as she looked at the angry echidna.Why did he move from Angel Island,were it would be easier to protect the Emerald while not breaking everything in sight?It was just not fair!

Tails cringed, but sighed slightly as Tikal healed him.
"Thanks Tikal. And he probably will... But I'm dead afraid of what he might do to us..." he told her. He had indeed had a small part in the house destruction, but hadn't broken anything per se. He'd used his recently upgraded Ring decoys to try and stun Rouge, but she'd smacked them aside, breaking a few things. Then he was kicked through the window, breaking it. His black jean jacket, recieved from Sonic on his 9th birthday about a month earlier, showed the cuts, as did his jeans and white tee-shirt. As Tikal finished healing him, he got up, wincing at the pain located between his legs.

"Oh no you don't!" Rouge said, and kicked Knuckles' hand away, then backflipped. She flew up a bit high.
"Unless you grow some wings, I don't think you can- AAAAAAH!" she said, then screeched. She fell to the ground, paralyzed. Tails was standing with his hand out, having nailed the bat with a Ring Decoy.
"That's for torturing me, hag." he said.

Tikal looked astonished to the fox boy."...Nice....job." She has never seen Tails's Ring Decoys before,and she was shocked to see that some rings had done what she couldn't do while fighting her in Knuckles's now destroyed appartment.Then she looked at Knuckles eyes and said,"Oh-oh...Tails,you might want to close your eyes...looks like things are about to get ugly...."

Knuckles began to crack his name sake as he walked over to Rouge. He picked her up under his shoulder and started to approach the house and said, "If it worked on Sonic, it's bound to work on you. Do you know what a pizza paddle is really good for?" Knuckles asked with a cruel smile.

Tikal once again was shocked."Paddle....?So Knuckles will tear her appart with a weapon as oposed to his bare hands?T-this will be as quick as violent!" Tikal was confused.In the past there isn't any pizza of course,and she thought that paddle is some kind of weapon.Of course,she has been spanked before in the past,but only got hand spankings(Being an echidna princess meant that even her dad would take it easy with her).Because of this,she didn't understand what was passing through Knuckles's mind...she even asked Tails,"You understand more about this time than I do...what kind of weapon is this "Pizza Paddle" that Knuckles will use to beat the bat thief up?"
