Kirnan Connel leaned against the corner of a building, surveying the square from beneath a hood. C'mon Kir, just find a likely target and-hellooo. His thoughts were cut off as he saw an obviously wealthy man come throught the crowd, surveying a pastery stand. He had some sort of guard with him, but the man seemed distracted. Ha, c'mere you plump little tart. he thought with a devilish grin, begining to stalk through the masses of morning shoppers.

Sir Laurent was supposed to be watching his majesty, Supposed to be, but how can I with that errent pageboy of mine?!
He flipped his brown hair out of his eyes, scanning the crowd for him. He knew he shouldn't have brought the boy to market, he was so apt at running off! He didn't notice the black and gray leathered figure nimbly darting through the crowd.

Matt stood at a pastry stand, trying to decide what to get. Sure, he could probably buy all of it, but he didn't want to get fat-er..fatter. He noticed that there was someone going through the crowd, but didn't react to it besides keeping him in his sight. He had Sir Laurent to protect him, but he's been rather..distracted, ever since he got the pageboy with him. Maybe he should get rid of him. Either way, he kept an green eye on the black and gray leathered figure, watching him, and pretending to not notice him as his black hair was moved somewhat by a breeze.

Alex was running through the crowd at the same time Kirnan was. I'm in trouble I'm in trouble I'm in trouble... he thought as he ran blindly, searching for Sir Laurent and Alex. Eventually he spotted them and ran towards them. He had to make up an excuse. One that would actually sound believable and made sure that he wouldn't get in trouble. But as he got closer, nothing came to mind, but only the sight of the thief heading to the king. Hoping that maybe Sir Laurent was watching,he pointed to the thief, hoping that the Knight would see it.

Kirnan aproached the royal quickly and brusquely slammed into him, at the same time deftly stealing the man's purse, "Sorry sir!" he barked, running off. The manuver was pulled off easilly, Another perfect smash and grab from master thief Kirnan Connel. he thought.

Laurent's eyes however, were niether on his majesty or the young thief, they had latched onto his wayward page with a flinty look.
"Alex! where have you been young man and don't try to tell me you were scanning the square for thieves and assasins." he growled.
When the boy was close enough he grabbed his pointing arm dragged him forward and smacked his backside hard.

Matt immediately checked to see if his purse was there, running without even thinking. He didn't need to check, but he did to make sure. He was a fast running and he wouldn't let the thief out of his sight. But he might need to do something about Laurent.

Alex was stunned when his arm was grabbed and felt himself being pulled forward. He then let out a yelp as the other smacked his backside.
"But I was! Honest!" he tried, squirming in the man's arm."And you were foolish enough to let one steal from the king and the king is chasing after him! You didn't do your duty!" He was taking a big chance. Either this would get him completely off of punishment..or he won't find sitting comfortable for the next few days.

Kirnan was congrajulating himself on his flawless thievery when he glanced back and saw himself being pursued. "Shit!" he cursed loudly, and sped up; his hood flew off of his head and his long messy red braid flew out behind him like a banner.

Laurent stared at the boy for a split second before turning and seeing his monarch dashing around a corner into an alley.
"Blast it all to hell!" he said, taking off himself and dragging Alex with him, scolding as he went.
"If I hadn't had to babysit you I wouldn't have had any trouble you little brat! Next time you will do your duty and obey my orders!" He gave him a glare, "And I'll give you some incentive when we get back to the palace.

Matt still didn't lost sight of him. He kept following him and soon found that he was getting closer to him the longer they ran on. He wasn't going to let him get away. As soon as he was close enough, he grabbed the thieves shirt, pulling him back.

Alex followed him, tripping every now and then. "But I was searching for scouts and thieves! And when I tried to point one out to you, you didn't get him, and I'm getting punished for that?"

Kirnan could hear the footsteps behind him getting closer, and when the hand landed on his tunic he immediatly swung around, planting his right fist square into the man's jaw.

"Get off me you idiot!"

Laurent wasn't catching up because of his charges fumbling so he scooped the boy up over his shoulder and ran at his full stride.

"No, you're going to be punished because I specifically told you to stay right by my side so I wouldn't have to worry about you and the king. You instead chose to wander off, that's what distracted me and if you want to argue it further we can discuss it with you over my saddle all the way home." he said this gruffly as a last warning to his little page.

Matt still hung on to the man's tunic, pulling him with him as he staggered back and then sent a fist into the man's stomach. "No one steal from me!" he yelled as he sent another fist to his face.

"Come on! At least let it slide since i tried to warn you of the thief? I mean, I tried to point him out and you didn't listen. It would've been worse if I hadn't, so that means that you should let this slide!" he said, trying desperately to get out of the punishment.

Kirnan had gotten into plenty of scuffles in his fifteen years as a street-theif, but he'd never been punched in the belly before. His breath went out of him in a whoosh, and then the left side of his face was punched. This guy is nuts! No purse is worth this!

"You want your damn money? Here! Take it!" he yowled, throwing the purse at the feet of the man who still gripped his tunic firmly.

Laurent slapped Alex's hind-end fiercly, "Fine! Over the horse then, bare, all the way home to the palace!" he barked, he was in no mood for the brat's excuses or dodges today. Who knows what could be happening to his majesty?! That thief could be up ahead gutting him and-

"You want your damn money? Here! Take it!"

Laurent rounded the corner, which revealed the alley to be a dead end, only to see his king slugging a young red-headed youth clad in black and gray thieving leathers.

"Umm, your... Majesty?"

Matt smiled. He bent down and bent down to pick up his purse.He turned to see Laurent and said "Ah.Sir Laurent. Better late then never they say. Of course, I would prefer on time. Either keep an eye on that boy or leave the palace." he said as he picked up the thief and lifted him over his shoulder.

"And as for you, you think that I'll let you get away that easily? Oh no. You're lucky I won't have you executed, but just like that boy over there is going to get, your going to get spanked all the way home. Besides, I could always use another servant or knight."

As Matt was talking, Alex was pleading with the knight.He yelped as the other gave a fierce slap to his rear and said "No! Laurent please no! It's a long way to the palace! And we pass a lot of villages on the way!" in a whining tone, ignoring the fact that Matt was speaking.
