Magic Protectors (for Chrysm)

[Terra]

Ryu was a powerful man who lived in a peaceful city. He and his daughter had an incredible knowledge of magic. Ryu was the first person to tame the power kept within Hell's Tome. He was also the clan leader of an ancient group who tamed dragons. He recently discovered that there were others with magical gifts. Some helped him protect his city, but some were not so friendly.


Ryu was just coming home from the university, where he taught biology. He also used a secret library he built under the university where he studied ancient magic and demons. "I'm home!" He called

[Chrysm]

Kiara was not where Ryu thought she'd be. Instead of in her room studying, she was out with some friends. They were playing in a clearing that few adults knew of. Luckily for her, her dad wasn't one such adult.

Though she knew she ws risking his wrath, she wan't in the to study today, so simply did other stuff instead.

[Terra]

(so he doesn't know where it is?)

Ryu sighed as he didn't hear a response. He shook his head as he went to the refrigerator to get a soda.
That girl is just asking for a spanking He thought as he drank. He had been telling her to study so she could advance from being a learner to an apprentice.

[Chrysm]

(No, but a couple of the other parents do)

The day slowly crept on and a few of hte other kids had returned home, to ensure their parents never discover where their hiding place is, though a few parent did know of it.

Kiara stayed there for a while, thinking that there was no need to rush.

'I mean, why shoud I study, when I don't want to?' she said to herself 'What's the big deal? What's the rush?'

[Terra]

Ryu decided to take a walk while the weather was calm. He locked the house up, then started walking down the street. People often talked about Ryu like he was a legend. The older folks knew when he protected the city against a horde of HellSpawn. He walked toward the university with his sword by his side. He felt a strange presence, but didn't know what it was.

[Chrysm]

Other people went about their business as he walked around. SOme were gathing thier kids, who had returned tfron the hiding place before any were aware of their absence. Others were doing other things of importance. A few paused to conversate with Ryu on certain matters.

Kiara remained in hte hidden grove, blissfully ignorant of the bustling village. She lay on her back, gazing at slow moving clouds as hte sky began to turn orange with sunset. She figured she'd return to the house once it was dark, since by then Ryu would have given up looking for her. However, as she lay there, she was also unaware of something lurking in the shadows. Something...........evil.

[Terra]

As Ryu was walking, he heard someone scream. "Great." He muttered to himself as he ran toward the sound of the scream. A demon was attacking a lady, who was hiding in an alley. Ryu jumped in front of the lady, sword drawn. "Go back from whence you came, demon." He said, clutching his blade.

[Chrysm]

Kiara was snapped out of her relaxation daze by a scream. She sits up as a shadow falls over the grove, but the sun was still high in the sky,and there weren't any clouds at the moment.

She keeps looking around, trying to sense what is going on, and where some dark creature might be.

[Terra]

The demon lunged at Ryu, claws ready to slice.

Ryu stepped back, and grabbed the demon's arm. He smirked, and slammed it hard against the wall. Before the demon could recover, Ryu cut it in half with his sword. He moved so fast, that to normal eyes, it just looked as if the demon split in half on its own.

[Chrysm]

Kiara began to feel uneasy and nervous. She knew whatever was lurking around was near, but she coudln't determine exactly where. She remained unaware that a shadow figure began to take shape behind her.
