Calary, generally called Cal hopped on her rusting and ancient bicycle to school in town. A few people glanced up at the lone figure and thought her a boy with her close-cropped dark hair and sort of quaint button shirt and slacks. She didn't speak to many of the kids as she dismounted and chained her odd vehicle, but she did meet with a few to exchange hellos. First day of Senior year. She felt like graduating already instead of enduring more time here.

She passed through the auditorium to hear the orientation speech of the year--seniors were usually responsible for showing other kids around. She certainly knew every inch of the school. She searched with bright green eyes for any person in need of escort after the speech ended. It took a lot of will to do this, because Cal didn't in general feel sociable towards many.. she did notice a lot of pretty girls who probably wouldn't have looked twice at her.

Ah, senior year. The year that every kid was always looking forward to, ever since their freshman year of high school.

And Alexia was no different. She stepped into the school with a bright smile, accepting a few hellos as she walked down the halls. She was a pretty girl, blonde hair that hung to her neck and bright blue eyes. She wasn't exactly the most popular girl at school but was very well liked by all.

Orientation went by slowly and she stood with a stretch, heading back into the halls, greeting all the people she hadnt seen all summer. Finally, she saw one of her oldest friends and shouted to her, "Cal!" She shouted from the other side of the hall, "Cally!"

Calary sought in vain for a freshman to escort. Most of the wordly little types (they grew shorter every year, it seemed) didn't look lost or curious. She brought her narrow shoulders up and started to exit when a familiar voice called out.

"Oh, hi Lexie," she said, her tone careless, but her smile gave away delight in seeing her friend again. Usually her summer work kept her away from everyone--and she didn't tend to be oversocial, even in school. "It's the last year, huh?" She raked a selfconscious hand through her windblown short hair--after the voracious bike rides, she usually ended up looking disheveled.

Alexia ran up to her friend and gace her a tight hug, smiling up at the girl as she chuckled. "Yeah, last year. You excited?" She with a smile. They were a odd looking bunch as Alexia was what some would call... kinda overly preppy, even a goody-goody rich girl as some people who didn't know her as well though of her but she'd known Cal since they were little and would never turn her back on her. "You sure look excited." She said with an eye roll.
