"Late, again, DiNozzo?" Tim teased.
"As always," Tony shot back, sitting at his desk and taking a long drink from his coffee.
"Where's the Boss-man?"

"Right here." Gibbs said as he walked to the area where his team was, his expression as unreadable as always, heading straight for Anthony's little area. He wasted no time beating around the bush as he said, "Late again, DiNozzo? " The tone in his voice showing that he was obviously not pleased at the continuous tardiness to work.

Tony winced and eyed his lover with apprehension.
"Only by a few minutes, Boss," he said, taking a deep drink of his coffee.

"It's always by a few minutes, but you're late every day." he said, looking at Tony in the eye, letting a few minutes pass. He looked over at Ziva and McGee for a moment before turning back to Tony, then suddenly getting up and walking away. Tony, who messed up a tad more than a bit, knew what it meant.

Gibbs walked into one of the empty conference rooms, closing the door as soon as Tony walked into it and guiding the male to one of the empty chairs.

"You need to get here on time." Gibbs stated immediately. "Why do you always arrive late? There better be a good reason."

Tony thought for a few minutes. He knew he'd need a very good reason to avoid the inevitable punishment.
"Um...I have to get coffee, and a burrito, and...um...there's traffic," he tried lamely.

Gibbs stared at him, as if waiting for him to say more. Anything to add. Car troubles, woke up late, hell, even chasing down a thief. Just something BETTER than THAT!
"That's it? That's the best you've got?" He asked, his tone more than suggesting that just how pissed off he was at Tony's lame excuse.

Sensing trouble, Tony quickly started thinking of excused he hadn't used before. A little lightbulb went off above his head.
"I locked my keys in my house, and had to pick the lock."
