Lily started to close her eyes after a moment as tests were run. After a half-hour, they were finished.
"Though we're not completely sure what it is, it seems like there was a unique drug in her system that kept her body in good condition. She has a slight asthma-like condition and a rare bodily weakness. Luckily, the weakness is only mild. Though, due to whatever drug she was exposed to, for up to a month or two, she will have more severe attacks than she would otherwise get. We're prescribing an inhaler for the asthma-like condition and a few shots in case she has an attack of extreme weakness." One explained. "Also when you put her to sleep at night, give her an injection in her bottom with this for a month. If the problems start to settle, give her the injection twice a week." He added, handing Dexter a box with the indicated regular injections.

“So, she had something in her system that was keeping her healthy? How... odd....”

Dexter's mind starts to go over the facts in his head. After the strange ability that Kaede had exhibited, as well as this bit of information about Lily, it was suddenly obvious that their “father” had been using chemicals to improve his little assassins and keep them at their best. Now that Lily had run out of whatever drug was doing this for her, she had an intense relapse of her normal health problems. He starts to wonder if Kaede was given a similar drug, and if she might experience some kind of relapse, too.

“Thank you, Doctor. I'll remember that.”

He gathers up the injections, as well as the prescriptions, and holds them in one arm while trying to help Lily to her feet with the other.

“You feel okay enough to walk, kid, or should I have them bring a wheelchair to take you to the car?”

He still wasn't sure how they were going to pay for her treatment. Fortunately, it was a general hospital, so he knew that they ultimately couldn't make them pay if they didn't have the ability to.

"I think I'm fi--." Lily began to say before falling forward. She managed to grab hold of a nearby table to keep herself steady. She sighed, looking at her feet.

“You're still shaky, Lily. Let the orderly bring you a wheelchair and I'll push you out. Kaede is probably waiting to hear how you are, so let's not keep her waiting much longer.”

Dexter motions for an orderly to bring the wheelchair, and then he helps her into it. Wheeling her back out into the emergency room waiting area, he rolls her over to where Kaede is sitting.

Lily nodded softly and got in the wheelchair easily. As she was rolled, out, she rested her head on her arm.

Kaede awoke as she heard them and sat up, stretching a bit.

Dexter stops the wheelchair in front of Kaede, leaving Lily with her as he starts to head outside.

“I'm going to get the car and drive it up to the front, Kaede. Wheel Lily out to the sidewalk and I'll help her get in the car from there, okay?”

Kaede stood up and stretched. "I can do that." Kaede said, taking hold of Lily's handles and pushing her softly.
