"Alright." Scorch replied, lashing his tail to one side in his usual irritable fashion. He moved back towards what he had decided was the center--his steps were relatively slow as he had to pay careful attention to his surrounds.

Loner didn't entirely want to return beside Soldat. The cat didn't look upset at him, but the kit wasn't all that sure that the cat approved of his sudden decision to dart away from him initially. Loner looked away from him, letting his thoughts wander as he often did. It wasn't for that long though and soon the kit had redirected his gaze to Soldat once again. The cat was much less intimidating when knelt down. Loner's ears gradually perked up and slightly forward. The kit shuffled his feet against the ground a bit as he inched himself close enough to reach Soldat's hand. He reached his hand towards the other cat's and stopped just as his own hand was hovering near Soldat's. He jerked his hand away again, but smiled shyly regardless. It wasn't so much that he didn't want to be near Soldat now. He just didn't really know what to do with the hand presented out towards him.

Soldat noticed Scorch's tail but decided it was better to let him get his anger and frustration against the targets, overall since he had gotten where the center was mostly right.

He activated a target's beep again.

His green gaze went to Loner and he smiled back, he got confused by the kit's hand motion but took it as a good sign, then with a light movement of his gray head he invited him to return to trainning or at least to return by his side.

Scorch pounced towards the sound of a beep, swiping with his claws once again. He hadn't pounced towards it quite as quickly this time--not to say he was slow by any means--but he had worn off a lot of the extra energy he tended to use in a destructive manner.

As usual, Loner took a couple moments to decide what it was he wanted to do. The kit wasn't usually one to act too rashly. However he did choose to move back beside Soldat.

Soldat welcomed him back with a light nod and continued to make the targets beep as he pondered about what to do with the smaller kit.

"Good work Scorch, but put more speed into it" He indicated and then turned to see Loner.

"What about you learning some blocks" He said and indicated the kit to put himself on the side. "I'll attack you with my tail" The gray cat told his apprentice, moving his tail sharply. "You'll block by doing either of these movements" The ex soldier showed the kit how to do high blocks, low blocks and both side blocks. "Think you can handle it?"

Scorch nodded, not answering verbally this time. He was more than ready to show off whatever he could. That was his primary motivation at the moment. He forced himself to move more quickly then.

Loner watched Soldat silently as he spoke and showed him the different blocks, slowly attempting to mimic it as practice. When the cat asked him if he could handle it, he nodded his head slowly.

Loner hid a smiled and began to attack his apprentice slowly, trying to make him get used to the movements first, one eye on his apprentice, the other on the older kit, making sure that he changed targets by the sound and that there was no damage to his fists or his claws.

Loner stumbled back a couple steps at first. After all it was his natural inclination to run as opposed to block. Of course he wasn't afraid that the tail would hurt him--the response just came naturally. His ears lowered--apparently his look of determination as he attempted to block the tail as Soldat had showed him. When he actually succeeded though, he mewed happily and purred, forgetting he was supposed to be doing it more continually. He quickly corrected that though and refocused his attention on blocking the tail.

Scorch was simply carrying on with his assigned task. He was getting pretty tired, but he wasn't physically hurting himself by it. Just wearing himself down. His tiredness gave him motivation to prove himself tougher than it though. It wasn't too much longer that he grew more tired though, tail flopping down against the floor he sighed and stopped where he was, panting some.

Soldat watched, first with concern, then with pride as his student began to take this more seriously and actually manage.

"Keep going, young one" He said, putting a bit more speed in his movements, but not streght, he didn't want to hurt him.

He was proud, and he was sure that sooner or later, the kit would grow up to be faster and more cunning than any, with the proper trainning of course, streght didn't mean as much as many thought.

His green gaze went to Scorch then, and he stopped beeping.

"Rest a bit then follow my voice and come here" He called. "Well done" He said and looked at Loner while nodding in approval. Both had been doing an excellent work.

Once Loner had gotten started with blocking the tail he seemed to be pretty successful at keeping it up. Although he had a hard time keeping focused on all his surroundings and the tail at the same time. His sharp gaze was locked on the tail and he continually blocked it, using the methods Soldat had shown him. His fluffy black tail stuck out behind him to help him keep balance. It probably wasn't the best place for a tail in a fight, but at least it wasn't wrapped around his leg.

Scorch's ears perked forward as he heard Soldat's voice instinctively. He nodded, hands on his knees as he panted a bit more and then straightened himself up, cautiously making his way towards where he had heard Soldat as he was unsure if there was anything on the ground between the distance.

Soldat was pleased to say the least, by both Loner's performance and the control he was eventually showing over his tail and movements, yes, he was pretty sure that the kit would go far with the proper trainning.

He saw Scorch standing and hesitating in his walk.

"There's nothing in front of you, follow my voice, your brother is at my right and you are coming by my left" He informed and speed up the movement of his tail towards Loner.
