Default How to fix a slippery tablet

Not a tutorial, but a simple little trick: if you find the surface of your drawing tablet too slippery for your taste, tape a paper on it. It made a huge difference for me. With sufficient friction, the pen now actually goes where I want it to go. Frustration's gone and line art takes about half as long to make as before. It's really the simplest of things, and Google reveals that many others have come up with the same idea - but nobody ever told me, and chances are nobody ever told you, until now.

No I've known that for years. Pretty sure wacom also sells covers for their tablets that accomplish the same thing, as well as felt nibs that give you even more traction. Can't recommend the former, but felt nibs are really great.

I sure wish I'd heard of that sooner. I'd imagine a felt nib gives a bit different feeling, since it modifies the pen rather than the surface. Might be worth a try, but I'm not sure if I really need it any more with the poor man's paper trick.

I just taped the paper, it works great. Thanks a lot.
It also fixed the problem of some parts of the tablet being more slippery than others because they have worn out. Now it's all even.
