Project: 48 Spanking Positions

The inspiration

The 48-te are a set of 48 traditional Japanese sex positions often depicted in art. (Example.) The idea is to do something similar, but with spanking positions instead.

How it works

- Everyone takes dibs on one position that hasn't been taken already and draws it. Anyone can join in at any time as long as there are positions left, and draw as many or few as they like.
- The goal is to reach 48 different, as unique as possible positions.
- The theme is schoolgirls. Everyone creates one character for the school club ("Traditional Discipline Research Club"). Since we have many participants already, this is optional. If you choose to create a character, please do a character sheet, as detailed or sketchy as you like, with a picture, name, and any details you wish to add.
- When drawing each position, artists picks two (in some positions three) club members to pair; or may elect to pick only one club member and design the other character in their picture themselves, but fitting the school theme. (Or even both, if they really really want to, but then at least one should wear the uniform.) Possible characters could be other students, parents and siblings of students, teachers, maybe even maids if some class is holding a café... Since we have a lot of club members, I recommend using them as much as possible.
- Non-artists are free to share character designs. These won't be club members, and using them is up to the artists.
- Existing OCs are best avoided, as they have their own stories and might distract the theme.
- Implements, state of undress and other such details are all up to the artist.
- Colouring strongly recommended.
- Focus is on the pose, so background isn't necessary, and if drawn, should be light and simple.

Oh yes, legs up is one of my favourites too. A few more:
- lying on bench
- standing hands on head
- tied to a ladder (I liked that one a lot)

I've been thinking further about how to make this a more coordinated thing rather than just a bunch of separate pictures. One option could be to use the same characters, like Almond's site mascots, but it might be better to have a bit more variation... So another option could be to create several characters for the project. For instance, every participant could design one character, and pick any pair for their pictures.
Finally, characters could be completely up to the artist, but there would be a unifying theme like, um, schoolgirls! For their culture festival, a class or club organizes a grand exhibition of all the different ways to redden a bottom. Ahh, I don't know... What do people think?

elmantonegro: Thanks! That's what I meant with "wheelbarrow". I think I'll make stick diagrams of the ones suggested for simplicity, since there are often many names for the same position.

LoloASD: Great! Welcome aboard! That article has a good list but more are still needed. Of course there are always variations like seiza OTK and over one knee, but more imaginative positions would be better IMO.

Three people still isn't much so I hope more will join! Though it's always possible to shrink the project too. 48 just came from the 48-te so it's pretty arbitrary.

I just noticed this thread and I'd like to participate, though I haven't contributed a lot of art to this site.
I can't think of any more positions, unless you want to include positions facilitated by bondage (hanging by the wrists or ankles for example). You've listed 20 so far, so I think 24 would be a more realistic goal than 48.

Also, that japanese thing you linked to is just about the most adorable thing I've ever seen. I am so making that into a valentines card.

Sure, welcome! I suppose you're right about the number. With four participants, 24 would mean an average six pictures for each, which is already quite doable (I wasn't thinking anything terribly detailed) but more artists would always be better!

I see no reason to exclude bondage if someone's willing to draw it (I am). Hanging position sounds good. Maybe also neck and wrists locked to stocks.

Thinking about how this would best work in practice, I think rather than divide them up, everyone could take dibs on one position at a time - this way artists can easily join in along the way and do as many or few pictures as they like.
Similarly, the position list can live - it isn't really necessary to rigidly set the number beforehand. 48 is in the thread title, and it's a good goal - 24 would be realistic, true, but realism be damned, let's aim high! If we never reach 48, that's okay too.

People have been shy to suggest themes and such... Lolo says he likes the school setting with everyone creating their own character. Shall we go with that then? Now's the time to talk, including people who haven't joined yet! This ain't my thing but ours.
