Holiday for the Edogawas (For FetchaSwitch)

As summer break approached Ran became smugly secretive around Conan, and surprised him when she told the Detective Boys that Conan would not be able to join them on their Camping trip with Professor Agasa, Conan wasn't int any trouble he was aware of and she tended to act the same way around her Father when she was planning to try to get him back together with her Mother, so Conan was suspicious, but could not find clues to what Ran had planned. then came the lastday of school before break, and Tantei High only had a half day so Ran was home long before Conan gets there....

Conan arrives home, putting his book bag down by the door


"Taidama" he calls out by rote... hoping for a response from Ran.

"Okaeri, Conan-kun," Ran replied coming out of the kitchen with he apron on. "I'm Glad you did not dawdle coming home today, now hurry and get changed into some presentable play clothes, not much time." as she shoos Conan toward the room he shares with he father, where he finds a packed suitcase.

pauses "Whats going on Ran-neechan?" he says puzzled... but grudgingly goes to his room and gets changed into something fresh and clean...

"Well, just put it this way, You'll being kicking yourself if you're not ready when it happens, you should be able to find something suitable, that not already packed" and Ran leaves the with he satisfied smile, trying not to let any thing on

He sighs and gets changed... then... out of idle curiousity... decides to check inside the case... checking to see just what is inside...

comes out pausing...

"Ran-neechan... you didnt tell me we were goign to the beach..." seem a bit confused... trying to puzzle it out...

"Oh I'm not, you know Otousan is too cheep, first week of break no way would he pay for a holiday like that," Ran answers not fully answering the question. Then there is a knock at the door, Ran quickly looks over Conan and determents he presentable enough with his choice of clothes, then answers the door, and there int the Door way Conan spots the form of Fumiyo Edogawa, who says a quick hello to Ran, before turn towards Conan and lowering herself to one knee and holds open her arms as see cheerfully says "And there my precious little Conan-kun, come give Mama a Hug and kiss."

Ran stands aside smugly happy with herself, having played her part in the surprise for the boy she thinks of as her little brother, unaware that Fumiyo Edogawa is really the disguised form of Yukiko Kudou, mother of her missing childhood friend Shin'ichi.

"Mom?"

:he says puzzled.

:mutters: "It would be nice if you called me a few days in advance"

'Fumiyo' wraps Conan in her arms and plants a kiss on his cheek, "But that would ruin the surprise sweety"

"Mom!" He shouts a bit angrily but sighs realizing that being angry will do nothing and hugs her a little...
