The Punishments of Kali
Hi, all. I'm new and not entirely sure if this is the correct way to go about this sort of thing, but aaaannnnywho:
This based off of an Indian legend about the goddess Kali, in which she terrorized a village for a long time. The villagers prayed to Shiva, who challenged Kali to a dance contest (Kali was a goddess known for her dancing prowess, even doing it in battle). She matched him at every step, until Shiva raised his leg vertically, which would not befit Kali to do, as a woman. So she forfeited the contest and was pacified.
Unfortunately for her, Shiva has decided some punishment is in order...
Shiva looked at the prostrate goddess before him. Her almost truly black skin shining with sweat, her supple dancer's legs and four arms, and her toned and generous breasts and posterior.
"Kali, my love. You have caused these people great suffering. You know my love for you is unconditional, but it is my duty to see that you are punished properly."
As he spoke, thunderclaps rang out across the land.
"You are to be split into four avatars and punished, then made to suffer once more as your whole self. Begone, Kali."
