The Rise and Fall of the 7th

I'll do this as if it was like one of those Unsolved Mysteries Shows... Hah!

As many of you may know, M7th was an RP created by Elias-kun this passing 08' January. The RP quickly became incredibly popular, having become massive within no more then a week. With The House's population looking for something more challanging, a group of friends all came into the RP, and so was born M7th.

Before the RP was created, I had one set idea on how I wanted it to be, a game where people could level and gain experience through missions and "Door Quests". Throughout the months we started slow on the missions, having one or two a month at most.

As time went on, the RP grew larger and larger, having more people join in, while the RP world itself also grew; more cities, enemies, storyline. Soon Midnight's became the most active, and the largest RP on the AOTK site, but due to a spiral downwards during the summer, the RP never was the same again.

It was in the summer where Midnight's peaked at it's most active moment, and then begun it's spiral downwards. With missions happening so often that people had to actually wait a week or two before time would even allow them to get their mission in. Also, the NPC forum skyrocketed with characters, characters people made mainly to be slaughtered in or used on Missions. Midnight's seemed to be on the top of the world, until a series of fights that came between a Co-Admin and Players. It were these arguments and fights that would lead into tension between the Admins and Players. Nearing the end of the summer, and starting of school, Missions came to a sudden halt completely, and the activity in Midnight's to a minimum. Schooling hit Midnight hard, and even with his million in panache, it didn't look awesome.

The RP took another slow period, but it looked as if it would soon lift out of it, with missions and development happening once more. It was believed that the rebuilding of trust and progression could happen once more, but in another turn of horrid events, the situaition of a character banning caused another uproar, turning Midnight's once more into a warzone. The RP started to break into sections of players after that, and tension was higher then ever.

After a month of slow RPing, still due to school and the combined effort of fighting, the RP begun to once again open up to full time RP. Sadly, missions had taken a complete turn down the road of nomore, and was not seen again. It was when one last fight came up that the RP was to be done away with, to cease the stressful outbreaks it seemed to have every month or so. With a simple fight turning into a two-side war of upsettedness, it was finally time to throw the towel in on Midnight. Players quit over the event, got incredibly emotional and left, and once again, I was given complaints in PM's over the drama. With that, I made backups of every players character, told those still around what was going to happen and had a conversation on it, then had the RP removed.

Currently, it has been decided that the Midnight channel will stay open for anyone who wishes to go in and contiune the RP. The one thing that has changed is that it is no longer structured. It is open to how people wish to play it, (Although they sghould stick to how it was, becasue magical bunnies didn't exist) That is one option for people. The one thing I ask of if people do choose to go this root, is to limit the use of the name of Midnight's in it's fullness and my information, as there is tracking issues from my IRL to this Site... Completely understandable, I believe.

This, was the rise and fall of Midnights, and just as any strong empire in the past (Or RP), it fell after coming to it's peak... We will give it a few months going as just a free-for-all RP with no structure, and we can discuss at that time if Midnight's castle under Z's control will become another Mass RP.

And as a final, final note, I have returned to RPing, so hit me up with a private message in the chat to talk or RP... (I usually don't send out the first message, it's a wierd complex of mine)

I know it's not your fault and all, but this is incredibly frustrating for someone who was just getting into the RP. I'm too new to easily segue into private RPs - I needed centralized RP to build relationships. Maybe everyone else was frustrated, but I was just starting to have fun, and to have it yanked away is really exasperating.

I completely understand Alex, and I know how frustrating it can be, especially for someone in the situation you are in. It sucks, but, well, yeah.

Why not join in the main chatroom #animeotk ? Everyone there is normally friendly It is a normal chatroom rather than an rp but friendships built in there can easil extend into roleplays.

This is a really good idea for you Alex, and a good suggestion from Ai. Friendships that begin in the main room do tend to lead to more Roleplaying, and even expansion into other types of RP. I highly recommend this.
