The water was smooth and cool on Rin's sun warmed skin as his cut through the water, taking breaths each time he surfaced. Practice during the summer was essential, though the water was rather lukewarm some days and the day was hot as hell. He ached all over but pressed on, begging his muscles to press forward just a little bit more. He had a couple more hours before the pool closed and was going to use his time to the fullest. The olympics had high standards after all.

Reaching the wall of the pool, he stopped, standing up from the water and shaking his hair lightly, his goggles resting on his head as he looked over to his sister. "I'm gonna be a couple more hours. You might wanna call someone."

The day was nice and Rin was practicing for olympics as most of the time. He wanted to get to the olympics and was working hard for it. His sister Gou had of course no problem with it, she was even in a swim club herself. Not as a swimmer, but well...

Mai, his youngest sister wasn't too fond of it though. She was 9 years old and had the same eye- and haircolor as her siblings. "Aww, but Nii-chan", she whined. "The day is so nice and I want to play something with you", she said and looked at him sadly. "Watching you get's boring after a couple of hours...", she complained with a pout.

Rin heard the whine in his sisters voice and sighed, shaking his head while running a hand through his damp, red hair. His eyes focused in on his sister, watching her pout in his direction. Of course, he could tell she wasn't fond of his swimming. Or swimming in general. And on occasion Rin felt guilty for having to take up so much of her time. However, he wouldn't just let her walk home. No way.

"I know, but I have to practice until the pool closes. I haven't gotten a chance to practice in a while. You know that." His voice sounded a little short and he grimaced, feeling bad for snapping. But he didn't tolerate whining. From anyone.

Mai listened and crossed her arms over her chest. She knew he wouldn't let her walk home all by herself. It was so unfair! He didn't live with her and her sister after all, so he had to walk all the way back once he finished practicing. Mai watched her brother while he continued swimming and had an idea. Rin couldn't keep an eye on her all the time, he was swimming after all. So, the little girl watched and walked around the pool a bit.

As Rin wasn't able to see her, because he swam into the other direction, Mai went into the changing rooms and out of the hall. Even if Rin would notice her absence at some point, he had to change clothes to go after her after all. Happy because of her idea, she started walking home.

Rin swam a few more laps, not keeping track of much aside from the water on his skin and he time he was silently keeping in his head. He was improving. But not by much. And he couldn't tell without a stop watch. After he returned to his original position he broke the surface of the water, moving his hair back and his goggles up to look to his sister and apologize. She didn't deserve to feel the aftermath of his frustration.

A cold shard of ice pierced his heart as he looked up.

She was gone....

He held his breath for a moment, suddenly feeling like he was drowning as the walls of the pool began closing in on him. But he let it out and shook his head and began getting out of the pool. She was probably just in the bathroom right? He looked over to where she was sitting before. No... her bag was gone.

He looked to the gate and saw it was ajar. She didn't...

Suddenly Rin was working at full speed, shoving his damp legs into his pants and throwing on his hoodie before bolting through the changing room and out the hallway, bursting through the door. Where is she... where is she. He was in a full out panic before he noticed the little girl only a block away, about to cross the street.

"MAI!!!"

Mai thought that she had a lot of time before her brother, who was obsessed with the swimming and not paying any attention to her, would come after her. Well it appeared that he noticed her absence faster than the girl thought.

She was about to cross the street as she heard him screaming her name. Uh oh...

Even if she felt like running from him, she stayed and waited for her brother. He seemed angry enough as it was after all. "Nii-chan", she said as he reached her and looked up innocently but also a bit worried.
