The adventurer's ward

Allana sighed as yet another hunting party went running back toward the villlage. It wasn't like she was trying to bother them, she was trying to fish for dinner when they saw her. Sighing and losing her appitite she headed toward her small hut.


She had been alone for as long as she could remember, having been raised by a elderly woman before she passed on a few years before, leaving the girl alone.





Meanehile in the village, the village cheif was aat his wits end. None of his men were brave enough to drive out tthe monster of the forest, although they were trained swordsmen. Sighing he decided to send a letter to aa neighboring village where a adventurer lived who was skilled at killing or trapping anu supernatural creature.

That adventurer was a young druid named Finn. He was good at fighting with a spear and exceptionally skilled in the magic arts of his land which he had for many years studied in the shadows of the sacred oaks and strange monoliths of his brotherhood. He was tall, with long, raven black hair and deep blue eyes. He wore a long gray tunic and a dark fur lined coat, simple but elegant clothing that along with his pale, attractive face almost gave him the appearance of a nobleman. Without hesitation he accepted the Mission when the letter arrived at the village he protected. Finn was always eager to help his people and their friends, despite his often aloof behaviour.

Allana was in a tree gathering apples when he arrived, though she paid him no attention to him until she accidently dropped an apple right on him.

"Shit! Sorry! Didn't see you down there!"

She appologized flying down from the tree, blushing slightly.

She had a dark colored hair, red eyes, bat-like wings and a forked tail but other than that she was small in stature and obviously just in her early teens.

Finn was approaching the tree, his spear in hand, when suddenly an apple hit his head. "Damn, can´t you be more careful girl?", he growled a bit irritated, even though it hadn´t really hurt. "I´ve gotten enough complaints about you as it is. But it almost seems like they were hopelessly exaggerated. Who are you exactly and have you done any harm to the village nearby?", he questioned her, getting straight to the point. He didn´t like to waste time doing pointless jobs.

"I'm Allana and I don't even go near the villages. Last time I lived in a village I was twelve and it was up north and that was a year ago before I came here."

Her wings drooped a bit as she spoke.

"Not my fault the orphanage I was in had an outbreak of measles. Though I got blamed for it.....Just like everything else. Besides....It's not like I didn't get sick too."

"I see. Still the villagers are afraid of you. Mind to take a walk with me to the settlement and explain the situation? Perhaps then they won´t bother you in the future. Don´t worry. You are under my protection for the time being.", Finn suggested, listening to Allana´s story patiently.

"Um...Okay. they probably will just say I'm lying though or something."


She answered with a sigh, walking with him

"I wish Mrs.Miller hadn't.....been so old. If she hadn't passed they would have never found out about me and I wouldn't be alone."

She muttered, thinking back to the elderly woman who had lived in the woods who had found her injured and took her in. as she thought about this her wings drooped again.

"Sorry. You probably don't want to hear some freak whining,"


She muttered then becoming silent.
