A Fool's Errand {for nightbladered}

Nick was actually grateful for the hug that he was given. It wasn't the same as a hug from his daddy but it still made him feel better. His gray eyes shifted to Mr. Matt as the man said that Steven would get what he deserved and would get it worse if he tried to get revenge. He nodded his head slightly at that and then looked a little puzzled when Mr. Matt told him to get dressed and then asked if he knew what room his daddy was in.

"Yes sir," he said softly before nodding again when he was told to go and pay the man a visit. He moved to get dressed and soon enough Nick had left the room, after one last glance over at Nate.

Nate really didn't want to go along with it but at the same time he really didn't want to further upset his daddy and so he went over to Mr. Oran and put himself over the man's lap. He squirmed once he was in position and then yelped in response to the first swat. The man's hand was really hard and that caused him to squirm and soon enough he was sniffling and then crying all over again.

"Owie! That really huuurts!" the little boy whined, squirming even more and kicking his feet as the man started to swat his sit spots.

"I put a lot of work into that paddle Nate," Mr Oran responded as he continued to swat the boy's sit spots. "It was very rude of you to burn it, and when I make the new paddle, I will be trying it out on you. Maybe in front of the entire ranch so that all the kids can see what happens if they pull a stunt like this."

Meanwhile Nick's dad looked up as Nick entered the room. "Hi Nick. How you doing buddy? Come sit on the bed next to me."

"Pleeease sir, don't do that," Nate begged the man when Mr. Oran mentioned paddling him in front of the whole ranch. That was something that the little boy wanted to avoid at all costs and so the teary-eyed little thing ended up begging. But what he noticeably didn't do was beg for his daddy for help, the little boy thinking that would look really bad if he did that, like he was trying to use Matt against them or something.

Nick made his way into the room and he sat down sort of gingerly when his dad told him to come and sit. "Been better..." he answered honestly when his dad asked how he was doing.

Nick's father didn't miss the way that Nick sat down or the look on his face. "What happened Nick? Who spanked you and why?"

Not that someone else spanking Nick was an issue, in theory all the adults and some of the older teenagers had spanking rights, but some were a bit too quick to spank.

"I think it's a good idea," Matt spoke up. "But, you have the wrong boy. The entire plan was Nick's idea. Nate did go along with it, but he didn't come up with it. I won't say no if you want to spank both of them that way, but Nate is a sore and sorry boy right now and he will be sorer and sorrier before I am done punishing him for this."

Mr. Oran considered this. "Very well. I will focus on Nick as that lad is the ringleader." He gave Nate a final swat before placing him on his feet. "Go see your daddy lad, you are in his hands now."

When Nate did, Matt sat him down on his lap. "Tell Mr. Oran thank you for taking the time out to spank you," he instructed Nate.

"...you're going to be mad at me if I tell you..." Nick said softly when his dad asked him who had spanked him and the reason for it. He knew that the man was going to press for an answer however so after a moment he took a breath and said, in a voice that was almost a whisper, "Nate and I burned his paddle... and Mr. Matt gave me a whipping for it..."

Nate was sort of horrified at the thought of being spanked in front of everyone and he cast his daddy a grateful look when the man spoke up on his behalf. The crying little boy yelped in response to the final swat and when he was stood on his own feet and sent over to his daddy he was quick to trot over to the man.

Resisting the urge to reach back and rub as he did so.

Once he reached his daddy and was picked up the little boy squirmed on the man's lap, sniffling sort of pitifully. He looked at Matt when his daddy told him to thank Mr. Oran for spanking him, the little one making a face in response to that. As far as he was concerned that was the last thing that he wanted to thank someone for but he didn't want to run the risk of getting into more trouble so after a moment he unhappily turned his gaze back to Mr. Oran.

"Thank you sir, for taking the time to spank me," the sniffling little boy said softly.
