Dick sighed softly at the last explanation before he shut his eyes tightly, getting ready for the first swat. He knew that when Bruce had a closing sentence it was only a matter of time before he started the punishment, closing his hands into fists to brace himself even more.

He yelped at the first swat, whimpering as his pants around his legs stopped any kicking that he was going to do by reflex.

Bruce knew this didn't need to be a very long or hard punishment. Dick was still a little boy, after all; he wouldn't risk overdoing it. The smacks were fairly light, just hard enough to sting, and he wouldn't go past his hand... yet. The boy hadn't done anything really naughty yet to call for it.

His heart hurt when he heard that little yelp, but he kept going to get it over with. Delaying this would do neither of them good after all.

Dick whimpered as he kept yelping, squirming slightly as the sniffles turned into soft crying, it didn't take much to make him start crying. The guilt from not listening, and lying had gotten to him ever since they left the tower that day.

Especially lying to someone else after he promised his father he'd be good and stay with him,"I'm s-sorry Daddy..",he said during his tears.

Bruce listened as his son transition from yelps, whimpers and sniffles to full on crying. He knew this wouldn't have to last much longer, what Dick had done wasn't the worst thing he could have. And he was sure the little boy wouldn't do it again. Especially if he wanted to go out as Robin again.

As soon as he said he was sorry in such a pitiful voice, Bruce scooped his son up into his arms and held him close, hushing him softly, "It's alright... All done... Just don't do that again, OK?"

Once Dick was lifted up he immediately wrapped his arms around Bruce, burying his face into his shoulder, tears running running down his cheeks. He lifted one arm to wipe at his eyes, nodding repeatedly when he was asked not to do it again, there was no way he was going to boldly do that again! He appreciated being able to sit without squirming around, even with pillows on his seat, the boy hated the fact he couldn't sit like everyone else.

"Won't ever, ever do it again Daddy! I'll be so so goods that it'll be my super power! And get all the nice stuff during Christmas from Santa!",he said once he had calmed down enough, snuggling up into the hug. If there was one huge thing about Dick, it was that he was super clingy after a punishment or before bed, he hated to be put down during those moments.
