Jared sighed and opened the cell door, sliding inside and crossing his arms. "What you did was an act of treason Adam. There isn't anything more serious."

The pup was out of the cage and into Mischal's arms within seconds. Elliot watched his beloved hold the animal and sighed. Mischal really did look far too much like an angel, with his pale blond ringlets framing his face, which the dog was licking.

Adam hiccuped and rubbed away his tears, only for them to be immediatly replaced by new ones. He hadn't meant to commit treason, just irritate Mischal. "Can't be treason." He sniffled. "I'm English and I didn't speak ill of the Queen. She's the only sovereign I recognize."

Mischal squealed and kissed the pup on it's furry head, scratching behind two floppy ears and crooning to it softly. "I like this one." He grinned and held the little one up to his face, making faces at him and giggling. "Yes. I think I want him." He said finally and stood up.

Jared sighed softly. "But you are not in England. And here Elliot and Mischal are still noblemen. Women..." He shook his head. "If they wanted to, they could have had you killed Adam. Is that what you want?"

Elliot nodded and pulled out his money purse. "You realize you're going to be the one who trains it and plays with it, right?"

Adam was slowly regaining his confidence back. "But I'm still an English subject." He insisted. "I still have a right to a trial before execution."

OOC- For his next attempt at a criminal career, Adam will become a lawyer.

Mischal looked up at him and rolled his eyes. "Of course. I'll feed him and walk him and love him!" He giggled and pressed his nose to the pups. "You know I've had dogs all of my life and I trained all of them." He said, grinning brightly.

"But you aren't in England, and those laws don't apply here." Jared sat down smoothly on the prison bench and patted his lap. "So you can do this willingly or I will just have to take it into my own hands."

Elliot paid for the dog and they left. "I didn't know that. What breeds do you prefer?"

Adam chewed on his lip. "I'm willing to negotiate on this. Ten smacks maximum, with your hand and I stay clothed." He crossed his arms and looked at Jared, waiting to see how the officer responded.

"A Sheppard." Mischal held the puppy in his arms, smiling down as it nestled down with a yawn and closed its eyes. "They aren't too terribly big, but I feel safer with one in the house. Unlike with that ruffian." He snorted and smiled at the man.

"Adam." Jared ground his teeth together. "You are not negotiating. I know what I have in mind. It will be sufficient for what you have done, and we will do this my way. Now come here."

Elliot smiled and chuckled. "Now, now." He patted Mischal's head and tried to focus the conversation back on the puppy. "You'll have to stay outside when I go into the glassblower's shop. You can't bring a puppy into a glass shop."

"Negotiating is a time honored tradition. I've been in enough courts to know this. As a man of the law you should appreciate my skill in bargaining."

"Well don't... get any ugly windows for my beautiful new home." Mischal said with a grin, kissing the others soft head and playing with his floppy ears. "I don't want to have to look out gross windows for years to come."

Jared clenched his jaw. "Oh really?" He demanded. "As the person responsible for you then I believe I don't have to do any negotiating." He stood up once more and pulled the other sharply. "Now. Come. Here!"

Elliot laughed a little. "They're windows. Glass. It's rather hard for windows to be ugly. Stay here and don't get into any trouble." Still laughing he disappeared into the shop. After the door swung shut he poked his head out again. "I wasn't kidding just now. Stay here. No trouble."

Adam braced himself, feeling his heart sink into his stomach. "Well, I think you do hafta negotiate." Frightened but defiant brown eyes turned up at Jared. "Doesn't what I think count for anything?" He still didn't move, despite the fact that the officer was obviously ticked off. If Jared wanted him he was going to have to get him.
