Space, Time, & Spirits (Three Ideas)
SPACE: A little bit ago, I started designing a sci-fi world for two of my good friends to play in. Scheduling kind if killed the game before it could really begin, but I put a lot of work into it and am still adding to the list. And so, I wanted to do something that would incorporate the sort of slapstick, spank-obsessed, science fiction that I so adore. Other than the setting, not much is actually set in stone. The plot could be centered around one of us playing a bounty hunter or intergalactic patrol officer, sent to deal out bare-bottom justice to those deserving. Or it could be the ultimately mundane lives of alien roommates, getting to know one another under the same roof and over the same lap: their landlord's or one another's. It could even be the tale of a daring space captain, their companion droid, and the rest of their crew taking to the stars and taking one another to task. Like I said, pretty open ended this one.
TIME: Ok, this one gets kind of specific, but if you don't like it I'm open to discussing some changes and tweaks. I don't have the exact year nailed down at the moment, but it takes place in the American era of greasers, diners, radio dramas and the like. Speaking of radio dramas, the main character being followed is a young actress in search of her next big role. She's a headstrong lass with fiery ambition; unfortunately her blonde curls, wide blue eyes and pouty lips have never landed her the serious role she's been hunting. She's played the clumsy secretary, the ditzy housewife, and every comic relief clutz in between, but never the femme fatale or quick-witted lead. On her newest project, again playing some doltz, she meets a new, sort of awkward actor that's landed the lead in the film or play. He's nice enough, but her attitude is quickly starting to irk his nerves in a way that leads to a very sore actress, rehearing her lines in the mirror with a scarlet bottom.
SPIRITS: During a young couple's stint at a thrift store or yard sale, Character B becomes enamored by some bracelet or other piece of jewelry and purchases it. In the nature of their relationship, Character A is the lead. They're helpful yet decisive, mentally tough, and supportive. A real, "They asked for no pickles!" kind of partner. B is the opposite, quiet and a bit oafish. That was, however, until they got the ring. Now, at random times, B will suddenly become assertive and dominating, prepared to flip the nature of the relationship on its head via the sudden implementation of spankings. This is a very honed in version of a very similar, yet broader idea I had of pretty much this exact thing but happening on a much wider scale (for example Spirits possessing a delinquent in detention to spank their teacher or possessing a woman to spank her son's girlfriend or etc.), which I suppose is also open.
Well, those are the ideas! Quick warning though, I sometimes get called away for days at a time, so please just be patient with me in terms of replies.
