In a secret base, Dr.Eggman was hard at work on a new project. Using his many years of research he would create an Ultimate Fighting Robot, one capable of defeating Sonic at last. And what's more, he would be almost impossible to detect, so he'd be able to strike when they never expected him. Through, to be careful, the doctor had made sure his creation was unable to use the power of the Chaos Emeralds, to keep it in line should it prove.... rebellious.

Then, with a mad laugh and a throw of the switch, the new robot was activated.

The little robot opened his eyes as he got up. "Good morning, Doctor." he said, smiling.

Despite being an fighting robot, Rodrigo seemed gentle at the moment. Could be because he is before his creator, though, it's rare for one of Eggman's robots to be this calm...one could even say docile!

"Not how I expected you to sound, but a docile facade will only make them less likely to suspect you." noted Eggman as he watched Rodrigo turn on. "*Ahem* Anyway, you know what you were created to do, do you not?" he asked as he turned around and began walking away, expecting Rodrigo to follow him.

"Good, at least I don't have to explain THAT much." Eggman said as he walked to a square room, stopping at the door at the end "But, as for how well you'll be able to do that, we'll see in this test.". He then pressed a button, the sealed door sliding open to reveal a pair of red eyes that stepped out to reveal Metal Sonic.

"Behold your sparring partner, Metal Sonic!" he announced as he stepped to the side and the room transformed into an arena. "Now, your continued existence depends on how well you do. I have no use for weak machines." Eggman explained, "Now start the carnage!".

At first, Metal Sonic was trouncing Rodrigo. The little robot was enjoying sparring, but he held back, while Metal Sonic didn't.

However, then Rodrigo realised. Metal...SONIC. Which means, this robot is based on his main target. Which means....he could go all out!

So when Metal Sonic used Spin Dash to knock Rodrigo out, Rodrigo held the ball with one hand, using Knuckles's strenght. Then, using Tails's flight, he flew near the roof of the lab, and launched the metallic hedgehog into a wall with Thunder Shoot!

He finished by landing with a Drop Dash, knocking Metal out!

Which meant...he probably wouldn't actually go all out on anyone BUT Sonic, and Eggman was luck that the robot he chose for the demonstration was Metal SONIC!

As the arena retracted back into a regular room and a couple of Egg Pawns approached to take Metal Sonic in for repairs, Eggman walked over to Rodrigo. "Well, I suppose you did win... But what an abyssmal early preformance!" he shouted, "It's as if you didn't even try to fight him! Almost as if....." he began, before pausing in realisation. "Did you hold back against Metal Sonic because he wasn't really Sonic?".

Rodrigo nodded!

"Affirmative, Doctor. I was made to defeat Sonic. Since he wasn't Sonic, I held back to try and get him out of the way without damaging him too much. But then I realised that he was a Metal SONIC, and that's when I went all out." the little robot said, honestly!

"You idiot!" yelled Eggman as he slapped Rodrigo upside the head "I can't have you only willing to fight Sonic and not any of his allies. You're of no use to me like that!". "Robots, put this defect with the trash he belongs!" he ordred as Egg Pawns and several other robots moved forward to deal with Rodrigo.

Rodrigo gasped in shock at this!

Of course, this might be a bit troublesome, because what this got Eggman was a "defect" that ran away from home...alongside LOOOTS of repairs needed, since even holding back, Rodrigo still knew the concept of "self defense", so he ran out of the lab in Sonic speed....by plowing through any robot on his way, meaning Eggman ended up with no new robots, and lots of old robots to fix!

Rodrigo ran as fast as he could for a while, and once he noticed no one was following him, he sat on a rock and began crying....
