A Return to Teen Years (for shadowsong2b)

[Terra]

Chloe groaned as she rode down the street on her rollerblades. She knew she should’ve set an alarm, but she was confident she’d wake herself up on time as she’s done that before. Well, so much for that! “Son of a bitch..” she muttered, picking up speed and cutting through an alleyway. She was late for her first day helping at a daycare and was trying to hurry. Soon enough, she made it there, but was delayed by sone jackass asking why she didn’t have a helmet. “I was about to give some words for calling me “sweetie”. I’m 21, not 6.” She mumbled as she took off the rollerblades and set it aside. Chloe was kinda short and had her hair in pigtails, her favorite hairstyle, so that probably didn’t do her any favors in being treated her age. Hurrying in, she went to look around for the person in charge, seeing kids running around.

Meanwhile, a girl of around 12 named Liz was sitting by herself with a skinned knee. The young girl was blind and had tripped outside, so she was sitting down there to rest. She heard Chloe come in and wondered who it was.

In the daycare was the owner. Maria Tompson, a woman in her early 30's late 20's. her hair was fair brown, and she had kind eye's. as she separated two kids she sent them off with a swat to the seat of there pants "And That had better be the last time I need to Tell You two!" she said, sighing as the kids scampered off.

[Terra]

Chloe shuddered a bit at that and walked up to her. “Uh. Hi?” She asked, trying to get her attention. She did notice the blind girl nearby and wanted to help with her scrape, but she figured introducing herself was more important, especially since she was an hour or two late.

Maria blinked as Chloe approached "Oh. Hello there honey." she said, briefly trying to place a name to her face.

[Terra]

Chloe groaned quietly as she was called “honey”. It was the hair, wasn’t it? It had to be. Blah. “Um. I’m sorry I’m late.. my alarm wasn’t turned on. I was really tired from doing a commission last night..” she tried to explain, her eyes glancing around nervously as she spoke.

"Hmm? Oh I'm sorry." Maria said looking up "Sorry. I've been running raged all day today because my new assistant flaked out on me." she said "Did your parents just drop you off?" she asked.

[Terra]

Chloe winced and shuddered. She hated being called a flake, especially since her roommates called her that when she said she was dropping out. “N-No. My parents live out of town, but this isn’t about them. I rollerbladed here. I can help, though.” She said, tensing up and groaning as she was treated childishly.

"Oh, Thank you for that honey but you go on and play with the others." Maria said patting Chloe's head softly. "I appreciate the offer though."

There’s that word again. “Dammit, lady, I’m trying to tell you something. Get the shit out of your ears!” Chloe snapped, then covered her mouth. Yeah, great first impression, Chloe. Brilliant. She opened her mouth to apologize, but nothing came out except for a stammer.

Maria gave her a sharp look. her hand shooting out fast as lightning to take firm hold of her ear. "Young lady! I don't Believe You had the nerve to talk like that." She said as she dragged her over to the near by couch.
