I noticed there's been some lightening of the server load in the Anime Spankables section of the gallery. I'm not sure exactly how many images were removed, but I lost at least 30 myself. I don't mean to complain about this (RobM has expressed his feelings on the section, so I've tried to cut back on uploading such items), but I'm guessing there are going to be a fair number of people wondering where their uploads went, so it might be a good idea to set up a thread or something to explain things and hopefully reduce the number of flabbergasted PMs the staff will have to fish through.

That said, I've noticed a persistent bug relating to the gallery email notifications. I'd figured it was related to the crash before, but it's still happening. When the above mentioned deletions occurred, I got email notifications automatically from the gallery, but the messages all said that an image had been "moved to a different category." The link in the email of course is dead, since the image is no longer there. This caused some confusion for me in the past, and I'm guessing I'm not alone in that. Could these notifications be changed to an appropriate message?

the reason you get moved notifies is because when something is "deleted" it gets moved to a special section which we like to call "The Admins testing/deletion section" this means we know what was removed and on occasion mods will note why in a post, this just allows us to keep a hand on whats happening.

Hm, that would explain why 19 images i uploaded under anime spankables got deleted. But still, why that section and not others?

'Cos its crap - and as Deejay said, I've been warning for months that its due complete renovation. Its just become a dumping ground for anyone who'se seen a cute image with a bottom in it on the millions of chans on the internet... and the material being uploaded there is getting increasingly questionable. It was *not* created as a gallery for posting endless streams of underage pussy shots from the >9000 hentai games produced in japan every year.

I'd send individual messages but I bulk removed some 450+ complete dross images so who knows how many different uploaders that is and frankly they should all know without having to take a wild stab at it what images were removed any why.
Hell, the three biggest uploaders to the spankables gallery upload total crap for the most part and have absolute contempt for the forum and never post here so its purposeless me creating a thread about it.

PS: Doujin gallery is next.

PPS: I am sorry for the multiple eMails people are getting - thats a symptom of bulk-moving images. I wished to turn off notifications temporarily but thats a user setting and don't have control over it. I gather it can be annoying getting eMails where the links appear blank.

The notification isn't broken - exactly - its a 'moved' notification (since we don't permanantly delete much stuff unless the artist really wants their stuff gone) therefore its trying to report to you a mod has moved the image (ie: Into an artists gallery if you put it into unknown X/F when its one of Su's) and is intended to show you where its gone.

I understand. The emails are a minor inconvenience, really. I just wanted to make sure the staff was aware of it. I don't know if there's some way to recode so that the messages can more specifically tell why items were moved/deleted (maybe just a little "reason" box for admin actions, like there are on post edits), but it's worth thinking about to avoid much confusion in the future.

If you click 'Edit Options' under the user control panel, there should be an option is disable e-mails from the Admins. This should theoretically stop you from being bombarded with alert notices when several of your images are removed at once. If you've uploaded a lot of stuff, you may want to consider using that.

There's a lot of stuff likely to be removed.

I was wondering, One of my pictures was moved to the mod section, even though I said I would be more than happy to edit it to the spanking part only if it wasn't appropriate. This seems like the kind of thing you should tell the poster about to just crop the image if it has an actual spanking in it.

Or did it violate some other rule I wasn't aware of?

l suppose editing the bog standard email message would work, lm pretty snowed under tho at the moment with offline issues, and am playing catchup with a few online things..

This is random for posting here but I hate dentist too Stoner. I do not trust people who stick there fingers and metal stuff in your mouth and poke around at your teeth and gums I had a dentist appointment yesterday.

Anyway on subject here I have gotten one of those emails before it was telling me that my screen cap was removed for some odd reason when it was not here to begin with and it never broke any rules but I am not to upset about it after it was just screen cap and if a Admin or Mod does not want it here then I will not fight to get it back when I could try and draw it.
