Kale did not join the hug, in fact she was a bit upset that Caulifla was punished so sternly even though her own rear was burning. Caulifla sobbed loudly, causing his gi to get messy from her crying

Goku didn't think anything deeper was up with Kale not joining, he just thought she didn't need it. "You know, Caulifla. You took that like an absolute champ" Goku said, still hugging her tightly. "I hope you learned the lesson, and that you don't hate me" he said, a little sheepishly. "I still see great potential in you both, and I'd love to help you bring it out. You just have to listen to advice and follow training rules".

Maybe you kicked them off during your punishment?" he said. "I'll comfort Caulifla as long as she needs, then I'll help you find them, okay?" he offered.
