It was certainly true that her people favoured raiding and ambushes over set-piece battles, but that was probably for the best. While they had an elite warrior class, like the Saxons, the mode of organization made it difficult to assemble large groups and most never had the chance to train together in shieldwalls or otherwise.

She shook the thought from her head though. Hoca was right, war wasn't the business of little girls she decided as she finished drying herself and went to collect her own much more intricate (and less comfortable) gown...

Hoca gave her a curious look. "That is a pretty dress, but does it fit you?", she asked, since it looked slightly uncomfortable. "What do you want to do next?", the girl then questioned,"I feel a bit peckish. Maybe we can get something in the kitchen? When you ask they can´t hardly ignore you...", Hoca mentioned.

"It fits," Ceridwen assured the other little girl as began dressing herself - a tedious process without servants to help. "It's just a little snug.. and itchy."

"Anyway, I suppose we could try visiting the kitchen if you're hungry. Although, I've not been down there often myself..." she warned...

"Why not try something else?", Hoca asked, not wanting her friend to feel uncomfortable in her clothes.

"Oh, I think I already know the way. And the servants seem nice.", she assured.

"Well, all my clothes are pretty much the same..." Ceridwen admitted.

"And besides, my other dresses are in my wardrobe and I'm too cold to wait for the servants to bring me one" she added, donning the outfit.

Ceridwen had had little occasion to speak to the servants, but had the impression that they disliked her, but couldn't decide whether the antipathy was because she was Welsh, or they rankled at having to obey a small child. The most likely reason - that she had never made any serious attempt to interact with them never occurred to the little noblewoman, however.

She then took Ceridwen by the arm and gently guided her to the kitchen, were a delicious smell was in the air. Baked goods maybe? They seemed always working hard there.

Ceridwen led her companion down the halls to the kitchen.

It was bustling with activity as servants hurried about preparing food, tending fires, tidying up, and countless other tasks the two little girls could scarcely understand.
