Kitten’s school days (for shadow)

The sun began to rise as morning came over the small town. Inside one particular house was a small little girl, still fast asleep in her crib. The girl in question was a neko by the name of Kita, a creature that had the ears and tail of a cat and typically the body of a human. There were few of them around the world, though most often were raised as children especially for those who couldn’t have their own. As the girl slept, she’d snuggle under her blanket, sucking her thumb.

about an hour and 45 minutes before it was time to head to school, the girls father, Mike Parker, a former US Navy SEAL who'd got out of the Navy half a year ago. at 28 years old Mike had been in the navy almost all his adult life, and he had married his High school sweetheart after his first deployment.

Mike had decided to leave the navy after a few tours, and he and his wife had decided to start trying to have kids, they'd succeeded, and Mike had been 2 months from leaving the Navy, and becoming a father...

His Wife and unborn daughter had been on their way to the doctor for a normal check up... and been hit by a drunk welding fitter from the nearby ship yard... both mother and child, and the welder had all been killed.

the news had broken Mike, a man who had been through heavy combat. Survived Navy SEAL Training, Hell week, Sniper School, and it had been the first time that his squamates had seen him break down. He'd left the Navy, gone back to the home they had built together...

for Months he been basically dead inside, grief doing what Combat and enemy combatants couldn't...

It had pushed him to the edge of Suicide... Until he'd found Kita. in such a short time, the young girl had turned his life around, given him a reason to live, a reason to smile again. he still greaved his lost wife and unborn child every day, but he still loved Kita with all his soul.

which is why he came in, smiled at her as she slept, and thanked his lucky stars to be so lucky to have a daughter as adorable as her. "Kita... time to wake up baby girl." he said lightly shaking her.

“Mmmm, tired,” the sleepy neko mumbled as she was shaken awake, rolling over on her side. It was her first day of school, and despite her excitement about learning, she was absolutely nervous about meeting new people. She tried to hide this fact, but she had been like this even before she had met Mike. In fact, it had been a miracle when she had finally begun speaking to him those first few months.

"it's time to get up now honey." Mike said, helping her up.

“Don’t wanna,” she mumbled, struggling to keep her eyes closed now.

"Oh really? Maybe I should do... this." Mike said, going at the girls foot with his fingers. knowing she was insanely ticklish there.

kita immediately squeaked, laughing as her feet were tickled before rolling around. “nooo, thats cheating.”

"All's fair in love and war." Mike said with a smile.

“Do I have to go?” she asked, finally opening her eyes.

"yes honey. You'll be fine. I promise." Mike said, picking her up and carrying her to the bathroom.
