It took Ryo a while to notice the boy'd fallen asleep. He was scared for a moment, afraid he'd let him freeze to death. But he was still breathing, and Ryo heaved a sighed of relief. As the blizzard died down, he slowly stood up, cradeling the boy in his arms, careful not to wake him. Ryo set off into the night, towards his home.

Ryo's cottage was in sight just as the sun rose. He quickly traversed the remaining distance and stepped inside, shooing a small cat away and laying the boy down in the bed. He covered him in blankets, then laid his coats to the side. The man started boiling some water on his stove.

He sat up and took the cup with a slight smile followed immediately by a "thank you... a lot"
he blew a soft cool breath of air over the hot cup before he took a sip...
