"What you need a reminder of is that there is no age restriction on manners young lady," Noah said sternly, closing the door and moving to get into the driver's seat. Placing the key in the ignition he started the car, the radio coming on and the music of an alternative rock band coming from the car's speakers before Noah reached over and turned it off. "It will take about half an hour to get home," he informed her as he pulled onto the street and turned the car in the direction of home. He hadn't had much time to decorate a room for her so he had simply picked out the largest of the spare bedrooms and decided that Summer could choose to decorate it however she wanted to. Currently the walls were painted a soft, celestial blue but that would be easy enough to paint over should she decide she wanted a different color. It was decorated to match, the colors on the bedspread complimenting it nicely. The house itself was two story and had an inground swimming pool in the fenced in back yard. It was situated in a sparsely populated but still residential neighborhood and as they arrived Noah pulled into the garage. "Welcome home," he said as he climbed from the car, waiting for Summer to join him. He would show the child her room first and they could have their little discussion.

Summer sighed but didn't reply and instead just pulled out her mp3 player from her shoulder bag and started to listen to music, she thought he might start to scold her while they were driving but she wouldn't be able to hear him while she had the earphones in her ears, she watched out the window as they got closer to the house, she smiled as they pulled into the garage maybe the house would be alright after all, she climbed out the car before she pulled her earphones out "Do I get a bedroom or do I have to live in the basement?" Summer asked smirking as she crossed her arms

"I thought I'd put you in a kennel in the backyard," Noah responded, one corner of his mouth twitching up into a partial smirk. He had no doubt that he could best his daughter in this little game of sarcasm and snide remarks that she had started but that would be childish and he wasn't one to play such games. "Of course you get a room, come with me and I'll show it to you. Then we can have our little discussion and see where things go from there." For better or worse he'd made his decision on what to do to curb the child's attitude and he had every intention of following through.

Summer smiled a little when she heard her father's reply but she quickly changed it into a glare "We don't need to have a discussion" Summer muttered as she crossed her arms once again, she was starting to worry about the amount of times her father said discussion, she had a dreadful feeling in her stomach that it wouldn't contain much 'talking' but if that was what he had planned then he had a hell of a fight on his hands

"I beg to differ with you on that one little girl," Noah said as he unceremoniously picked her up and tossed her over his shoulder, forseeing a fight and deciding the best way to prevent it would be this. "You've given me nothing but unnecessary attitude since we met and while respect is something that can only be earned you have no right to treat me in such a blatantly disrespectful manner. When in doubt, neutrality is the best course of action." As he spoke Noah made his way to the door that led into the house, unlocking it and pressing in the alarm code before progressing further. He was quickly met by a large black, tan and white Bernese Mountain dog, whom he gave a pat on the head. "I'll let you out in a bit Orion, but first I have some things to take care of." Leaving the dog behind Noah made his way up the stairs and to the large bedroom that would be Summer's. Closing the door behind him he placed the child on the bed. "I know that you think I didn't give a damn about you but that isn't the case. I would have been there for both your mother and you if I'd known but we were only together once and I had no idea that she was pregnant. I can't force you to believe me Summer but it's the truth." He was actually somewhat hurt himself that Elana had never told him that he had a baby. He'd missed out on ten years of his child's life, not to mention the fact that she now hated him for something that wasn't his fault.

"Hey!" Summer yelled as her father lifted her up and placed her over his shoulder, she was going to hit and kick him but she really didn't want to give him another reason to complain and so just crossed her arms and waited for her father to put her down, she glared as he finally put her down on the bed, she listened as he started talking again but shook her head "You should have checked before you let her leave and I don't like to be carried around the house like a bloody toddler!" Summer yelled, she was sick and tired of hearing her father's excuses and she had only met him today

"Let her leave?" Noah repeated, shaking his head. "Neither she nor I had any say in the matter since she was only 16 and I was 17... her father got a transfer and she had to move. End of story. And 'hey are you pregnant?' isn't exactly something that you come out and ask your girlfriend for no reason. I had no cause to suspect it." Of course she was going to blame him, Noah knew that, but it changed very little. "And as for not giving a damn and only showing up because I had to, know this; I didn't have to do anything. I could just as easily have signed over any parental rights to the state and you would have went into the foster care system. So think about that the next time that you try to convince yourself that I'm doing this because I have to."

Summer rolled her eyes and just laid back on her bed, she was about to shout about him being old enought to have sex, so he should be old enough to check if she was pregnant but she really didn't want to start that talk with her father "I could have stayed with Anna, she already told me that, so I don't give a f**k what you could have done!" Summer yelled before she put her arms under her head and relaxed

"And that is officially enough of that Summer," Noah said in a stern tone of voice as he grabbed the girl around the waist and once again picked her up, sitting down on the edge of the bed and depositing her over his lap before she would even have time to realize what was happening. "I've tried to be nice about this but your atttitude has got to go young lady. Whatever problems you think you have with me can be discussed in a calm manner, rather than shouting and obscenities."
