Jak Lancer was an unfortunate fellow. Only hours into his 25th birthday, he learned that as you get older things change. In this case, the change was the world ending...probably. A volcano was set to erupt, one that might soon destroy the world. And so he prepared a nice romantic evening for his girlfriend that night.

He arrived early to the picnic spot. The sky seemed to be turning red. Curiously, he saw a blue haze ahead of him. He decided to check it out, but heard the sound of leaves crushing behind him.

Marcy Akatoshi was 21 years old and is still in college trying to become successful and the best that she can be. She has been told the world was going to end but never believed it. One day on her boyfriend's 25th birthday she headed up to the area he told her to meet him. She saw he was looking at the sky as she walked up behind him.

"Marcy," he expelled in surprise, even though he assumed it was her. "I..." His eyes were still drawn to the shining light in the distance. He grabbed her by the hand and walked towards it. He was not sure why we was drawn towards the light, but it seemed as though he had no control over it. He had to find this light.

As he drew near, he realized that this light was not some lamp post and bicycle. He turned to Marcy but as he did a bright flash caught him. The world turned white and it felt as if he were hurtling forward. He stumbled on his feet. "Marcy are you alright? What's happening?" he yelled. The ground was starting to materialize as a dirt road in the middle of a forest.

Marcy tilted her head when he was staring at the light and grabbed her head and pulled her with him as she followed him. "Dear where are we going?" she asked as he got closer and closer to the light. Her eyes widen when they were caught in the light as the went at light speed through the light. She got onto her feet "Yes i'm fine,and i'm not sure" she said looking around at the new surrounding.

Jak landed on the brown road. But his mind felt foggy. His name... Faljak Lansir, and he was a powerful wizard. Or at least he thought so. Of course all of this would be short live if he could not divine a way to stop the planet that was due to cross into the world's field throwing out of its gravitation orbit.

He looked at the woman standing next to him, his lover. "Should we not be heading to magician summit?"

They reached the gates of the Tower of Magendie. The guard looked at them. "I don't recognize you. Only invited guests are allowed." Faljack withdrew the letter of invitation from his cloak. "I did not expect you to recognize me. I don't make a habit of associating with dullards."

Faljack entered the conference room. There were twelve other magicians present and the conference had already started.

"Blowing up the astroid is ludicrous!" one was shouting. "We'd sooner blow up our own world, talk sense!"

Faljack nodded to his companion. "What are your thoughts?"

Ahri followed Faljack to the Tower of Magndie and looked around for any signs of suspicion and once they were at the conference room, she looked at the other mages fighting. "Hm how about we shrink it?" she suggested looking at Faljack.

Faljack expanded upon Ahri's suggestion. "We all know that there is a law that matter cannot be created or destroyed by magic. But it can be transmuted. The carbon and silicon in the asteroid can be transmuted to crystallized hydrogen causing a 20 fold decrease in the mass of the meteor."

One of the magicians interrupted him. "All of the magicians in the world would not be enough to do that to the entire asteroid even in ten years! Not to mention the intense heat that will be emitted during the transmutation!"

Sel continued, "The heat can be counteracted by a massive blizzard spell. This would take as many magicians as the transmutation. The truth is that there is not even a fourth of the magicians required in the world. We need more magicians. Ahri and I have been developing a way to induce magical ability in those without it. Of course it is potentially fatal and only theoretical at this point. Ahri?"
