The Brat Whisperer's Unexpected 'Visitor' (for Crash-Bash)

It was a cold and silent night in this neighbourhood, where the only signs of light were from the streetlights and a few houses, plus a temporary pair of them from a moving car. There were barely any sounds aside of the car moving past and the calm wind blowing through trees, as during nights like this, it tends to be quiet most of the time.

However, a sign of life wandered down the path, with sounds of soft clumping of his shoes. It belonged to a small figure who wore a red robe, his facial features concealed by his hood, while the hem behind lightly billowed by the wind. If heard closely, his stomach generated a light rumble where it was a sign that he was obviously hungry. But the downside was that he didn't have any money...

The figure thrust hands into his pockets to feel nothing but the fabric. He knew he shouldn't have spent it on food that he was going to consume right away instead of savouring it. He gave a wince, before looking at the houses seeing that one of them upfront had lights switched off... perfect. A few minutes later, the window was slowly opened, where the person was inside a kitchen. The fridge was quickly opened and food was thrust into his pockets, along with cookies from the cookie jar.

As it happened, though, the inhabitant of the house was not sleeping too well. She was a woman in her early 30s, with short brown hair and wearing a green dressing gown. Rather unassuming, one might think, but in fact she was a babysitter...and not just any babysitter. This was Clair, the infamous "Brat Whisperer", who was well known for her strict punishments delivered towards unruly children and teenagers.

Recently, she had caught a cold. Whilst most of the side affects had gone away, her throat still felt a little dry, and she'd sometimes need a glass of water. She'd just gotten out of bed and was heading down the stairs when she heard something...from the kitchen. Wondering what it was, she slowly walked downstairs and carefully opened the door....before throwing the lightswitch on.

"Excuse me," she said, "What do you think you're doing?" She was understandably shocked, but still tried to show she wasn't scared of whatever this figure was.

The young man continued to thrust anything consumable inside his pockets, outside and inside, drinks included. He didn't care if he had too much; he needed food and he wanted it fast. He may have done a better alternative, but at times like this, it's all about survival of the fittest. He had to find it somehow and there was no way in Earth that he was hunting for it. He didn't even have the experience.

This young man was named Rhei, a travelling teenager who came from a faraway land of a different world, but only he knew that. He was exploring a different world known as Earth which he heard was an 'only-human' world where nothing silly occurs and when it does, it's either a scam to make money and spark controversy. He was starving and resorted to stealing, and even though he felt this would come back to harm him, he felt he needed to do this.

While he was almost reaching his limit, he wasn't paying any attention to anything in the background. The lights were off, so everybody must be asleep, plus he wasn't making much noise. As he grabbed onto a bottle of something, he prepared to stuff it in his pocket between the bars of chocolate... right before he heard someone speak! He turned his head, mouth and one eye visible under his hood, where a gasp escaped. Oh no! He was caught in the act! What should he do? Run! That's what he did! He ran from the fridge, aiming for the window, while multiple items bounced where some fell off and made a mess on the floor.

"Hey! Stop right there!" For the briefest of moments, Clair had forgotten about her sore throat, and she was just determined to catch this thief. Unfortunately for the intruder, she was used to catching slippery customers, and she managed to grab hold of his shoulder.

"I asked you a question - what do you think you're doing?" she asked firmly, "Who are you and why are you raiding my kitchen?"

She took hold of the intruder's hood and thrust it back, exposing his head.

His heart was beating heavily like a bongo as he quickly made his way to the window, reaching one hand to grab the windowsill. However, before he could make a move, he felt the woman's hand clasp onto his shoulder, halting him. For a second, he felt his heart skipped a beat as he was caught in her grasp, so anything could happen. He wouldn't punch her though, he may be a thief but he wasn't a vandal.

Then the hood was pulled down, to reveal the very thief underneath this disguise. To her surprise, it was a young boy who looked around the age of fourteen, with an expression of panic across his spotless and adorable face. He had emerald eyes, which were widened in shock at her presence. To top it up, he had a mane of brunette hair with front spikes windswept to the side while the back was smooth.

He was over a head shorter then this woman who caught him in the act, and so he stood there without a sound or even an answer to her questions.

Clair was caught off guard by this too. The intruder was unfamiliar to her, but he was just a youngster, of the sort she would normally babysit every now and then. Why a boy like him was breaking into her house, she had no idea.

But at least she knew how to deal with a person like him. She reached forward and grabbed hold of the boy's ear.

"Young man, I do not tolerate my house being stolen from," she said firmly, "You remove everything from your pockets right now. Then I'm phoning the police."

The figure didn't want to show his face, and now that head revealed, he expected that this lady would be shocked that the thief was nothing more than a teenager, or a 'youngster' as she puts it. He was way younger than this lady, where she looked around in her early thirties or something like that. Probably the same age as his mother.

He stood there in silence without any speech falling free from his lips, as he was scared. He was caught red-handed by the lady of the house, stealing from her fridge as a failed effort to take some food. He should feel ashamed of himself. That was NO way a Keyblade Wielder should act, but he couldn't say that outloud. He tried to follow the rule...

If there was a weakness he had, aside from his hands tied together to resist his weapon summoning, it was his ear. He didn't have time to react as he felt her hand snake from his shoulder to his ear, where one of his eyes tightly shut as he let out a wince, finally uttering something.

"Ngh! Hey! Let go...! That's a sensitive area!" the boy said, right before the sting was subsided to allow fear of her announcement. His heart was swollen from fear as he nervously grabbed his pockets. "N-no... no police should be involved surely...! I was-I was just..." he had nothing. He was nothing more than a thief and a bad one at that!

Clair shook her head.

"Young man, you broke into my house and tried to steal from me. That is not "just" anything. That is a crime," she said bluntly, "And little boys who do crimes like that get taken away by the police and get thrown in jail. Where they belong."

That being said, she could see he looked terrified by the prospect.

"Your choice is simple, young man. I either have the police come and take you away, or you go without their involvement."

Rhei couldn't go to jail, or even this 'juvie' place that his mother threatened him with, so he gritted his teeth while he listened to her. It wasn't the pain, it was the pressure. He heard they stuff you into small cells and give you small meals, so the thought of that terrified him. He couldn't go to jail. He just CAN'T!

However, he listened to her last choice... where his face slightly softened. "Without their...?" Did she mean that she would let him go without alerting the authorities? That actually felt nice. Without warning he was taking everything out of his pocket and placed them down on a kitchen counter, including those bottles of booze that he was strictly ordered never to consume.

So, he emptied everything. "Okay... my pockets are empty..." then he softly placed a hand onto her wrist, not forcibly, but to see if she would release him. "I'll just go and I'll never come back... you've seen the last of me."

Clair watched as the young boy took everything out of his pockets and placed them back on the table where they belonged. At least he was taking some responsibility for his actions. However...

"Ah, ah, ah, no, young man....you're not going anywhere just yet," she said, "I won't call the police if that's what you so desire, but you still did something extremely naughty and I can't let that slide. With that being the case, I shall punish you myself."

She lead the boy over to the nearest chair by the kitchen table.

"I think a good spanking is exactly what you deserve."
