The Unreasonable Mother (For Skullz612)
Kimberly Wells slapped her palm against the steering wheel and let lose a colorful string of curses. "Damn that stupid cop! Why bother with a hard working lady when there are ACTUAL criminals to catch out there?" She slammed down her foot on the accelerator and her little blue sedan sped up. She was not, strictly speaking, angry at the cop. She was angry with her job, which she'd just gotten fired from due to tardiness, angry at her friends, who she'd partying to often and too long with, leading to repeated incidents of tardiness, and angry at everyone at that club who'd given her a weird look, or the men who'd she had scared off. She was also a little angry with herself because she was a little drunk at the moment and she knew in the back of her mind that was why she'd been putting everyone off that evening.
Kimberly Wells was a attractive woman. Tall and willowy, with long curly dirty-blonde hair, striking blue eyes, long attractive legs, and a pleasantly curved figure. She was not however, a attractive drunk, and her careless, irresponsible habits had finally begun to roost at home, resulting in her divorce, her unemployment, and a dwindling in her circle of friends.
She pushed these thoughts away in disgust and turned violently into her neighborhood, a pleasant middle-class subdivision called The Lakes. She slowed as she approached her house, surprised to see the lights on. "Oh Damn. Samantha has her friends over. I forgot." Usually the thought of her pretty, hard-working, responsible daughter improved Kimberly's mood, but tonight it just set her teeth on edge, she even found herself jealous of Samantha's healthy college life.
Kimberly jerked the wheel and slid into her driveway, crowded by at least two extra vehicles, these probably belonging to Samantha's friends. She slowed to a stop behind a dusky beetle and gasped as she rammed into its back end with a dull THUMP!. Cursing anew, she backed her car up and put in park.
She stumbled out of the car, more tipsy then she thought and kicked off her heels as they did nothing to help her balance. She was wearing short, shoulder-less dress and her a couple of silver necklaces that had become tangled. She sighed as she observed the damage. The little beetle's back end was quite badly dented. "If only they'd parked correctly..." She mumbled, which wasn't fair at all as she'd had plenty of room to park herself, and, retrieving a can of beer from the console she slammed the door shut and stomped inside.
She needed sleep, rest, and a shower, but first she was going to have to tell someone about the fender bender she groaned and began to curse again as she slammed the front door behind her.
