Things seem to be going better now and they are responding to my emails, so this is a very good sign.

Also, I just called into our hosting provider in Germany. They confirmed that pornography IS allowed on dedicated/coloc servers, as long as we are using our own IP address, which we are. So if and when the lying tech support says it isn't in the future, I have been assured officially that it is.

Apologies for the server downage over the last few days. We've been receiving bogus DMCA claims through our hosting provider, Hetzner, and they have been stating that our response emails have not been making it to them, so they blocked our server.

Unfortunately, since all the [gmail] emails and phone calls I have been making to them are going unanswered, it is possible this could happen again. We're actively monitoring the situation and will keep you informed of updates. It's possible we may end up having to move to a new hosting company.

Have you considered the option of using CloudFlare + back hosting (Hetzner)?
Or the option of two hostings, where the first is just a proxy and the second is the actual one (Hetzner)?

@Hrtofdrkns I'm probably going to have to be doing a fundraising drive soon, so I'll let you know :-)

@Midnightdrag I keep daily backups of the site. I wouldn't let the site go down permanently before giving the userbase a heads up.

@Gus1996 We host boyzbeingboyz too and Hetzner forced me to take it down, or they were going to nuke our server, and I have not had the time or money to move to a new hosting provider. And frankly BBB was not high enough on the priority list to force me to get these things done. If you PM me I'll provide you a backdoor into BBB that I've already provided others.

@lapot We do use cloudflare. It seems cloudflare passed the DMCA requests onto Hetzner. The second option requires money and time, which I am currently lacking in. Though it is a very interesting idea. It would add complexity and another point of failure to the process, but its an idea I had not considered before that is not a bad idea.
