~ Summer 2009 - AnimeOTK Art Contest ~

The theme:
Draw a Spanking scene from your favourite Computer or Video Game.

Now, the important thing - No pictures of people playing the game spanking each other unless you've got something really, really clever thats going to knock out socks off. I so don't want to see lots of pics of people being spanked for losing a computer game.

Pictures ought to be either a spanking IN the game - The contest is to set the scene inside the game world (doesn't have to be featuring main characters) or to see the game mechanics adapted to suit spanking.

Now: Here's the main thing. I won't include the word 'Obscure' in the competition title - but pictures of Sonic or Mario or Lara Croft will be HEAVILY CRITICISED.

I also don't want to see Halo, Streetfighter, mortal combat, dead or alive, Portal, Team Fortress... or any one of three dozen so-called 'flagship' titles that are routinely DONE TO DEATH already. Lets see something new by doing something old.

This contest wants to see games we've not seen in a while, games that most people don't even know about - or games that are very uncommon. Those little secret gems that many gamers have tucked away that they assure everyone are in fact masterpieces of gaming - even if you've NEVER met anyone else thats played them.

If you're unsure, post here with the name of the game you were considering and see what people thing~

One drawing or one-page comic per Artist (Do more if you like, but only the best one goes to the vote)~

Winner is the artist who comes up with the greatest, most original (and funniest!) adaption or scenario~

Contest closes 1st of August - so get cracking~

PS: Help Sonic the hedgehog reclaim his dignity by not buying any more of his God-awful, shitty, buggy games. He doesn't need another game, he needs retirement.

I might give this a miss, I'm afraid...most of the games I know really well just aren't "obsecure".

And besides that, it's only the non-obsecure ones I can actually draw.

Considering most of my favorite computer games of all time are rarely known ones, my problem is actually deciding which one to do...

Most games I know are utterly unknown to this forum - or pretty much everywhere for that matter. The irony is that even if I were a good artist, this would mean *nobody would get the joke*.

What about games that are more than 10 or 15 years old, were famous back then and are still well-remembered today by those who were old enough to play them ? I'm thinking of games like Final Fantasy VI (and the previous FF), Chrono Trigger, Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, etc... Most of AOTK members are younger than 25 (which, being 30, makes me feel downright ancient) and I have no idea how familiar they are with games released during the 90s.

Also, I totally want to see a picture of Fall-from-Grace spanking Annah (for once, the fact that my favorite game is so little-known could have a positive consequence !)

It's true that having a good/funny scenario for a pic about a game the viewers know nothing about is going to be a challenge.
As for artistic skills, cry me a river. My inability to draw anything more complex than stick figures makes me unsympathetic and jealous.
